Changing the product after purchase.

Hi everyone, I just purchased a Canadian $2 note through the Buy Now option and now the buyer says, "Hello - The note in the listing is the wrong pic - we have included a pic of the note that should have been in the listing - same, except for the serial number. If it is OK with you we will send the intended note..."

If you are into collecting money, serial numbers can be important. In this case, the $2 bill I bought has a much lower serial number than the one they want to replace it with.

This is the first time this has ever happened to me on eBay. Anyone else have this type of issue?

Thanks,

Lynn

Re: Changing the product after purchase.

very simple the seller made a mistake, can happen, you have a couple choices except or deny, contact the seller and let him no if  you agree, not really a big deal,if you dont agree with the seller ask him to cancel the order, very easy, myself if i made a mistake in my listing i would be more than happy to refund you, cancel the order,or offer something ,most sellers in that position would gladly remedy your request without a problem,no reason to contact ebay and create an unessary headach, comunication is the best remedy

Re: Changing the product after purchase.

Are you the buyer or the seller?

Proofreading is your friend.  (grumble grumble grumble)

In any case, if you are the buyer, you can tell the seller that you bid based on the specific note in the picture and since he cannot supply that one you would like to have him cancel the sale.

He did contact you, so if he cooperates and sends the Cancellation Request, agree immediately.

Although both of you can leave feedback for a cancelled transaction, I don't think you need to. A positive would not be appropriate since he could not send what you bought, and a neutral or negative is overkill for a mistake he promptly corrected.
