Will anything ever be done about the cost of Shipping?
I stopped Selling because the price of Shipping is too High and I was receiving to little funds to make the Selling worthwhile
Now it seems that I will have to stop Buying as well,

$16.23 to Ship 1 Card is crazy!
I really hope something is done because I see the END of my Ebay shopping coming, due to exaggerated Shipping charges!
There is no way it cost $16 to ship a card!
Sad, Very very sad

This is a new American seller.
He charges only $3 to ship within the USA
He is not familiar with export so he uses GSP with totally unnecessary expensive Global Priority service.
Buyers can always contact sellers directly and suggest a more economical way to ship. Some sellers may respond positively, others will not.

eBay has little control over sellers charging excessively for shipping outside their borders.

"eBay has little control over sellers charging excessive for shipping outside their borders".
Of course, eBay would prefer to do nothing as long as they get to charge the sellers the hefty final value fees on high shipping costs which make them so happy!

If sellers are doing things correctly, they shouldn't be paying Final Value Fees on their international shipping charges.

Do you have any understanding on how FVF works on shipments outside the domestic market?

Those Shipping FVFs are based on the first domestic shipping charge.
So if a seller says he will ship within the USA for Free, none of his shipping charges will have Shipping FVF charged.Including International Shipping.
If he says that he will ship lettermail for Free, but the buyer can opt for Super Premium Deluxe Shipping at $10, none of his shipping charges will have Shipping FVF charged.
If he for some reason puts that Super Premium Deluxe Shipping at $10 first in his list of shipping charges and makes it his default, he will be charged Shipping FVF on it, and on the international shipping charges, even if he also offers, lower in his list of shipping service choices, Free Domestic Shipping. But that would be an indication of a dumb seller, who has not bothered to learn how to make his eBay fees as low as possible.
