Ebay and Paypal Misleading..

Hi guys, Ebay and Paypal new policy are not working properly and I've been calling them many times and each of their representatives has different answers. These are the cases.

3 months ago my fund in paypal was held, the reason they told me because my performance was below standard so they gave me 3 months to fix it. My funds will be availabe after 21 days or can be easier to release 3 days after the delivery confirm with tracking number. But I explained to them many times I can't ask to the buyer to pay me additional 10-15 dollars for tracking number when mostly of my stuff sell for 1-10 dollars. They can't give me an exact answers they keep repeating about the tracking numbers over and over and I keep telling them same explaination over and over again too so conversation end up to nothing no consideration. So we always have to wait 21 days for our money to be refund and this is Unfair because first of all this is our money!

Second cases, I provide tracking number to my buyer because I sold more than $100. I followed their instruction put the tracking number into My ebay etc.., after days past by the items been delivered to the buyer so I've waited 3 days and thought the money would be release but it didn't happened..I called again and the woman told me she can help me but have to wait another 48 hrs for the money to be release..Another days wasted again..after 48 hrs the money wasn't there yet..I mean it's still on hold So I called again and then of course the woman don't know what to do so she transfered me to another line which is paypal representative and Finally they released the money. But they can't provide an answers why it didn't automatically release base on their new policy.

Now 3 months gone and another evaluation, fortunately my  Performance are now Top rated Seller and Power Seller..But the funds are still on hold except for new ones, Our old funds are still pending for 21 days. They just told us these funds will release automatically after 3 months base on how's our performance going on. So we call them again..but same answer over and over again..they have different stories, one telling us different stories funds will change and release after 3 months evaluation when our performance above standard..now another stories again..Whats their problem??

We've been penalized because we didn't meet the requirements they needed. Now we are way above to their requirements but there's still no further action..They want us to follow their policy to provide good service to the client but they don't follow their own RULES to provide good service to their sellers!!!

Here's more..ONe more story...Fund will not be hold if your Item's are free shipping..Yeah right..we have items which is free for shipping but nothing's work! all funds came in even it was free shipping was still ON HOLD...

This is so Unfair that they control our own MONEY!! Anybody has same problem???

Ebay and Paypal Misleading..

In ebay.ca,there is no way to get the held funds released earlier than 21 days, despite what eBay told you. Only US sellers listing on eBay.com can get their held funds released earlier.

This is unfortunately is exactly what happ;ened to me. Even now being a top rated seller and a power seller. Each time you speak to someone you get a slightly different response.

Even E-bay won't pay themselves from the frozen funds or can't; which created more issues like nsf charges on my bank account. For any Canadians here is a tip I learned yesterday....

ask your bank to place a stop payment on E-bay so they can't take your funds. My bank TD Canada Trust charges 17.50 for 6 months to do this. One nsf charge is 42.50!

E-bay is the absolute worst company to deal with...period!

They even threatened to downgrade my store to a basic store which would cost hundreds more in listing fees each month. I have about 3000 items listed and would go from 5 cents a listing to 20 cents!

Then they badger me with surveys with the 1st question being "how likely are you to recommend E-bay to others" Haha ...when hell freezes over!!!!

If you ship Internationally, they break it down to regions....USA ratings are seperate from the global ones. So you can be a top rate seller globally and be below standard in the USA!!! Get use to your seller dashboard. You can't tell this from the 1st view shown in the dashboard...dig more deeply! It was ONLY USA customers in my case giving less than 5 star ratings for shipping charges that caused my grief. NOT Canadian or International customers. Take care.

Hi maniacs4sportscards

I don't want this to sound mean but there was a reason for PP (PayPal) to put a 21 day hold on your money.

Reason I suspect was that you had claims (how many, I don't know) filed against you through PP and that will trigger the 21 day hold.

How long ebay or PP will keep the ball and chain on you, nobody really knows that answer and ebay or PP will not clearly tell you.

Best thing to do....Be a GOOD seller and resolve any isssue BEFORE they go to a claim.

Good Luck and may all your sells end with 6 zeros at the end.

Thanks for your information. Our issues was more than 2 percent of our USA clients complained about pricey shipping. We corrected this issue months ago but their reporting period has not cut up with the correct information yet. We are awaiting the old payments held by paypal to be released ALL income from new sales is available immediately now.

Ebay and Paypal Misleading..

I discovered the reason for the 21 day hold. It has nothing to do with your performance. Ebay now requires that you must provide tracking for min. 90% of the items sold to US buyers. I got a very threatening message from ebay, that I was performing below standards on ebay.com, and that my funds would be held for 21 days, unless I provided tracking. I called cust. serv. and tried to explain, that tracking does not exist for packages under 2 lbs.

It was like talking to a wall.

I think, that ebay simply does not want to deal with buyers claiming "item not received", so now they basically force us sellers to sell larger items, which will have to be sent "expedited" as that has tracking a #. I'm sure there will be a lot less claims, since dishonest buyers can no longer scam. I wonder how all the sellers, that deal with small items i.e. sportscards, coins etc., will be shipping.

I, for one, am only selling bigger items now.

pinetreecottage- You are wrong.

The tracking policy only applies to US sellers (USPS will add Delivery Confirmation to any item for as little as 13 cents. so there is no reason for a US seller not to use it.)

Sellers listing on eBay dotCA are not required to provide Delivery Confirmation information.

There are no eBay customer service reps in Canada. We talk either to Utah or the Phillipines. Neither seems to understand the difference between Canadian and US postal services or between the standards for Canadian listings and US listings. This is complicated by Canadian sellers who list on the dotCOM site and are not clearly explaining this fact to the reps.

Wrong again.

Both Canada Post and eBay are sloppy about what they call "Tracking". What Paypal requires is "Delivery Confirmation". For high value parcels this is upgraded to "Signature Confirmation"

Regular Parcel (domestic) and Expedited Parcels are Delivery Confirmed. ExpressPost and PriorityPost are tracked. Registered Mail is also tracked but is not accepted as being electronically seen by Paypal.

Expedited Parcel like all Canada Post products has a dimensional rate card. The smallest parcel acceptable is 10 mm x 7 mm x1 mm and there is no minimum weight

It is a mistake to use Imperial measurements with any Canada Post service. All CP services have been measured in metric since 1974. Other measurements are approximations and lead to errors.

Ebay and Paypal Misleading..

I must beg to differ. There is no delivery confirmation/tracking  for small packages to the US, unless item is shipped "expedited", for twice the cost or more of a small package (under 1 kilo.)  I'm sure we all know at this point to use metric. As a Canadian seller, I have questioned, why I got the message from ebay regarding my below standard performance on ebay.com., but above stanard on ebay.ca. The answer is simply, they want the delivery confirmation/tracking for min. 90% of sales to the US.  I can't be the only one getting the nasty message from ebay about this issue.

Ebay and Paypal Misleading..

I've been selling on ebay from Canada for years, most of my sales don't have a tracking number, and yet I can't say I've ever heard of anything like that.
