"I have shipped the following item to you. You should be receiving it shortly.
Item title: (Blah blah blah, etc)
Once your item arrives in satisfactory condition, please leave feedback for
me.
Thank you again!"
Like most sellers, I send my own final shipping email to my customers, and this automated BS email from eBay to my customers looks very unprofessional. It's driving me crazy (short trip).
I contacted eBay a few weeks ago about it, and they emailed back apologizing, but like usual, they didn't fix the problem.
Anyone else having this issue?
Cheers,
AXE

I wish they would let us opt in or out of all their automatic emails although to be honest, I don't notice it as I don't get copies sent to my email. Perhaps I should get copies of everything for a while so that I know what ebay is sending my customers.

I can modify the body of the email that eBay sometimes sends, but I personally send out different emails to different buyers depending on what they buy, and what country they are in, etc.
Time to buy something from myself and find out what other crap eBay is sending to my buyers against my will.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I'd much rather send my own.

I had the block disabled for another (trusted ) buyer.
Just a moan, no biggie.

It might be wise to contact PS Support and advise them of what you are doing because YOU want to see for yourself what happens after a purchase with you is made.
Then again...if you have a second ID...use that and there might not be a problem!

I have done this several times, most recently last week. Just make sure you transact a BIN and not an auction.
Every time I have followed up with a mutual cancellation.
I like to test the system every now and then as well and, as a result, have implemented changes.

Same with me, I have done it a few times and did a mutual cancellation without any problem.

Has any one ever tried to (and are we allowed to) buy anything from your own stores to "test" the system and see what emails are automatically sent, etc? If you have, did you go right through and pay, etc, to test it fully from start to finish?
Thanks,
AXE
No you can't do it. I tried it once on an alternate ID. I don't remember why I did it but it was just to see what popped up on the next screen where I was not going to confirm the purchase anyway. It did not even let me get that far.
You could possibly ask a reg bidder you're on good terms with or have the emails forwarded to you.

You can not use the same ID. I used my buying ID to buy from my selling ID. I am also using 2 different Paypal accounts.

2 different paypal accounts might be the key...my id's are on the same paypal but I could try it with my husband's account..
You are right if you want to go through the payment process by using Paypal. I did that when I tried my website checkout. I used 2 Paypal accounts from wich I transfered money .
I did not pay for my test purchases on eBay. I simply marked them as payment received and then as shipped. That did generate the emails.

If you are not going to pay then 2 different IDs are all you need.

Go to Safeway and buy a $25 Visa branded gift card. Register the card on-line. Get authenticated with PP (and eBay). Spend the $23-$24 remaining balance on the card. Archive the card and you're good to go for 3 years.

You can have more than one Paypal account. You need an email address AND a credit card for each account. You can not use the same credit card (if I remember correctly)
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/terms-outside#user_responsibilities
However, your wife can have an account, your kids too as there does not seem the be age limit to open the account.
