Feedback Situation

Hello all.

I have a situation which isn't as bad as it could be; I had a buyer win an auction on the 17th.  I opened up a non-payment "dispute" on the 21st (4 days), and the buyer paid today, on the 24th.  I had no communication with him/her until today - I was informed that was because they were on holidays.

I find that to be fairly irresponsible - as such, I don't want to leave positive feedback.  I'd like to leave a neutral explaining poor communication but eventual payment.  However, if the buyer leaves me a retaliatory feedback - can I get this removed or altered?

Leaving the seller a positive or no feedback at all leaves the next seller potentially disarmed; and also doesn't serve the "educating the community" purpose.

Times like this eBay seems relentlessly unfair.  I took multiple photographs and took great care to describe exactly what the item was; and even though he took a week to so much as communicate, I will ship his package tomorrow.  To my mind, my feedback ought to be positive (especially since I attempted communication multiple times rather than just writing him off).
