Feelings About Canadian PS Board

Just a simple little question for the few Canadian PS's that are here. I frequent both the dot com and dot ca boards. I have come to the conclusion that sometimes I need a break from the bickering that goes on at dot com and come here for peace and quiet. So far this board has been a real pleasure to read and helpful. Don't get me wrong I do appreciate the dot com board at times as it can be very informative but there are limits to how far people should go with the bickering. In the long run I am hoping this board does not go by the wayside as the other board seems to do at times. I am also hoping this board grows in size eventually. So I guess my question is, how do you feel about this. Please remember I am not putting the Americans down. I'll be interested in knowing your feelings.

Hey, Don, I'm thinking about having a "fire sale" to get rid of some of my jewelry...LOL
Jackie, I think that you should consider J'amour8, that should bring in some American Bidders. FTD would be there for sure!

My breasts are not perky anymore, nor am I a bridge-playing dizzy dame. But I DO belong to the Powerchicks and resent the bashing that's been going on here about that group.

First, you complain about the bashing that goes on on the PS board and say it's so much nicer here, then turn around and bash another group that you don't belong to.

I've seen no bashing on the PC board, just women getting along. It was started to get AWAY from that atmosphere on the main board, and is being kept small so it can stay personal and friendly. Just women helping women.

I had hoped this would be a nice, friendly welcoming venue. It appears not.

*JMHO* - to be taken with a grain of salt!

Catseye...you are right. I apologize to you and your fellow chicks. I was out of line with that statement. I'm sure your group is everything you claim it to be and good luck with that.

Cheers, Jackie...

Me too. I am so sorry. I was not bashing and I am still a member of the chicks. I'll give it another go and make an effort to belong and hope you will feel extra welcome here too.

I will admit that I can be as nasty as anyone else, and I was, perhaps, a tad...um...sarcastic about the powerchicks, but, jeez, I took a few beatings on the PS board for no reason from them in the summer, and it was silly. I do hope that they are everything that you say they are, and that they are more welcoming to people than they were to me. Perhaps I didn't hang around long enough before voicing my opinion.
I will try to keep a civil tongue in my head on this board.
Sorry.

Well Lisa & Karen...at least we can admit when we're wrong. Which now that I think of it...makes us Canadian sickeningly poifect. All we have to do now is make sure we never have an 'Arnold' embarrassment in our government.

So I went back to the chickaboom room and I was right - for me. There was chickie banter among friends which is fine but I was not interested.

I have joined an incredible group called Serious Power Sellers for Serious Questions. It's not all that serious but it is very informatve. It's private but if you ask to join they will let you in.

And of course you are invited to join my group, Sterling Silver Lovers, which is public, come one come all.

Ladies enjoy your powerchicky stuff and I am out of this thread for now.

Hey Firedept......no need to leave!! LOL This isn't a chickie thread!!! Least I didn't think it was.

I spent my early years in Toronto (until my late 20's). It WAS a great city. I'm not so fond of it anymore. It's changed so much. No longer Toronto he good. :o(

Lisa, I love sterling silver, but couldn't make a go of selling it on ebay, so I switched to gold rings (mostly), and I can't seem to make a go of selling it either right now. I am getting really fed up with the whole thing...now, I'm not bashing Canadians, but my auctions that ended last night were almost exclusively Canadian wins, and the prices showed it. They all want to send money orders or cheques, and I find that I wait for a good 7 days for that to arrive (if I'm lucky!)...I had one who used paypal. How annoying...plus, I was inundated with emails from people who wanted to buy my items after the auctions...this has been happening to another Canadian seller as well. One asked if I would sell the ring for less than the listed $29.99, because she only wanted the stone...a gorgeous, heavy white gold setting...I was downright insulted by that, and wrote a somewhat snarky email back to her, and blocked her from bidding on any of my auctions. Why are people doing that? Making pity inquiries, or, more likely, waiting to pick the meat off the bones?
This business is getting crazier by the day!
Karen
Don, please come back, we didn't want you to leave...

I'm back. Just needed a well deserved rest last night. Work 13 hour days and after 5 of them plus today I just had to pass out last night. Karen don't despair. I get a large amount of request for items that do not sell. I tell them I will relist in my store and they can find it there. Store is dirt cheap to list in. I also get the lower requested price. Usually I just email them back and ask them if they did not read the price in the auction as that is the selling price. I actually had one guy email me an offer of $25.00 for a $200.00 necklace I have and actually thought he was doing me a favor. Never even answered him as I was upset. Oh well I have to laugh at people, maybe they do not realise how much time this takes to find it, list it, pack it and so on. You should smile:) If you saw half of what I see in a day with fire department, WOW! We have it so good.
