Has anyone else had problems with ?

I ordered an item and paid for it on November 24th. The ad posted said they ship within 5 days. I contacted them on December 8 to ask why my item had not been marked as shipped. They replied on December 10 saying that they had some kind of error processing my order and that it would be processed on that date and shipped according to their policy as stated in the ad. This vendor now has 87 negative feedbacks in the past month (there were none when I purchased). I bought another similar item from a different retailer to make sure that I had it in time for Christmas. In the meantime, seller has expressed their regrets "for any inconvenience" and has not offered to expedite my order or give me a refund. I've made over 500 purchases through eBay and this is the first time I've encountered such nonsense!

Any advice would be appreciated.

The seller ID will be removed by the moderator - we're not allowed to "name and shame" members.  This seller has 1,829,434 current listings.  With that volume, there are bound to be a few errors.  However, 87 in a month sounds like they are experiencing big problems.  That said, I would contact the seller immediately and request a cancellation and a refund.  If they do not respond, check the expected delivery date.  After that date, you can file an item not received dispute in the resolution centre to get your money back.  If and when you do receive the item, you can contact the seller and repay them.

Arithmetic.

With over a million listings (the name has been deleted, as usual), I would assume that he is selling well over 1000 items a month.

87 negs on 1000 sales is horrible. 91.3% feedback.

87 negs on 10000 sales is pretty good. 99% or even 100% because: rounding.

Remember a certain percentage of buyers will never be happy, even if you give them everything they want.

The concern I would have is that you say he had perfect feedback with no negs in eleven months and then 87 complaints in the past 30 days.

Since he doesn't use tracking (which is expensive even from China; in some cases the tracking is the most expensive part of the total cost) allow him 30 days from purchase date for arrival.

That is normal for shipments from Asia, although they are often faster. Any slowdown would be in Canada due to the Christmas rush.

On Day 30, if the item has not appeared and if you have not been refunded, open a Dispute as Item Not Received.  Either the seller or Paypal will refund you.

This is an American seller with almost 300,000 feedback in 4 years, with a 99.1% ppositive.  There have now been 94 negative feedback in the last month.  However, the OP is mistaken in thinking their previous feedback was entirely positive - there have been 847 negative feedback in the last 12 months, and 801 neutrals, along with 93,733 positives.  I wouldn't buy from them - a quick review of feedback comments makes it apparent that their large sales volume is not backed up with good controls of their inventory and order processing, and they're not selling anything you couldn't find from many other sellers.  Because of the poor communication, I would file as soon as possible for an item not received.

Is eBay still blocking toolhaus.org ? That website, based I believe in Netherlands or Belgium, gives all the negative and neutral feedback for eBays since the 20th century.

Useful resource.
