How is Total Sales calculated in the Seller Dashboard?

I noticed at the bottom of the seller dashboard that there is a total sales. I've been using this to track my progress, but I notice that it updates weirdly?

Is it updated when the funds are released for a payment (I'm not at $250 sold yet), or when the buyer sends the money after purchasing the item? Or is it just updated periodically?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think there is any relation to payments, it's just a running total of your sales (not including shipping or taxes). I have no idea how often it updates.

How is Total Sales calculated in the Seller Dashboard?

If you view your sales on "my eBay" or "Selling Manager" on eBay.ca, the total is presented in Canadian dollars.

Since you sell in US$, the amount will fluctuate with the currency.

If the US$ goes up in value (Canadian dollar goes down) then the total will go up even if no new transaction has taken place.

How is Total Sales calculated in the Seller Dashboard?

There are three numbers   for performance to date

1.  Percent defects

2. Cases

3. Number of transactions, and dollar value for that number of transactions.

Click on the triangle to the left of number of transactions....  and you will see that the number as indicated today covers a period January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.

When February 1, 2015 arrives  the number of transactions  and the dollar value will be for February 1, 2014 to January 31, 2015.

The number of transactions  and dollar value for the transactions  does not continually change over a 30 day period... but  it would appear to change in relation to the 15th of each month.

It appears not to change for the first half of the month... and then goes up until the end of the month  (or Is it the reverse???)

----------------------------------

Percent Defects and Cases  change in relation to the date indicated... Today that date is January 10, 2015....  That is the start of January 10....

Trending data  is for a period starting the first of the month   to the date indicated....  which is the start of January 10, 2015.

------------------------------------

The numbers at the bottom of the page are for total transactions for all sales on eBay.... right from the very first sale on eBay

The number of transactions,  the total dollar value for those transactions... and the date for the first sale made on eBay....  For me these numbers cover sales from my first sale on eBay back on February 3, 2003.

If you sell in US dollars,  like I have done ... then eBay only has sales records expressed in US dollars.

I have never sold in Canadian dollars.

I used to list on eBay.com... and moved to eBay.ca in autumn of 2008 when a shipping cap for books was introduced on eBay.com

How is Total Sales calculated in the Seller Dashboard?

I sell on both eBay.com (in US$) and eBay.ca (Cdn$)

When I check my Selling Manager on eBay.com the total is shown in US$ (sales made in Cdn$ converted by eBay to US$)

When I check my Selling Manager on eBay.ca the total is shown in Cdn$ (sales made in US$ converted by eBay to Cdn$)

The Dashboard on the other hand shows US$ on both.
