While Chinese sellers are probably no worse (nor any better) than sellers anywhere else, there are an awful lot of them.
So learn how to protect yourself from the bad guys.
Look at feedback. Any feedback below 99% is not good.
Read the actual feedback when you see any number under 99% for a pattern. Some patterns are 'slow shipping' 'not as described' 'dollar store product' and mean potential trouble or disappointment.
On the other hand a complaint that a purchase has not shown up within in a week is a problem buyer not a problem seller.
Look at the Detailed Seller Ratings.
Any DSR under 4.5 is an indication of probems.
Read the actual description and see that it matches the picture. Watch for words like "replica' or 'homage'. Those mean counterfeit. I suggest that you never order from a mobile device. You can't see the entire description on a cellphone.
Don't expect a real diamond for a dollar. You will get no more than you pay for. (Which is not to say that there are not some very good buys from Asia.)
In terms of delivery, normally it takes about 30 days for items to arrive from China.
You have only 45 days to file a Dispute for an item that has not arrived. Don't file later than Day 42.
Expect Air Mail shipping. Surface takes too long and is used by bad sellers as an excuse.
DO NOT ACCEPT AN OFFER OF A REPLACEMENT.
It will never arrive.
Money back or Dispute.
If the seller cannot prove delivery and does not refund you himself, Paypal will refund you and go after him for their money. There will be other fallout for him.
Never be afraid or embarrassed to open a Dispute. Even if it all comes down to a misunderstanding, you have to protect yourself.
