Is it a good idea to purchase square trade insurance when it is offered by an ebay seller?

I bought an item from Buyrite7 and they are offering Squaretrade extended warranty insurance.  I was told by SQUARETRADE the insurance must be purchased from Ebay.com.  Where do I find Squaretrade insurance, from ebay.com?
