Every time this scenario happens to me it absolutely astounds. I will NEVER understand this mind frame.
A buyer can shop around on eBay as they please, no pressure to buy anything as it's always their choice once they've decided on something.
A buyer "should" know what they're buying, price, shipping price and details.
They make the decision, based upon the details to buy the item and then pay promptly.
They then send you a message telling you they think your shipping charges are too high.
(Btw this was on a Brand New Sealed 2011 DVD, total cost $3.99)
Gahhhhh!! If you didn't like the price then DON'T BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every time this happens I try to put myself past it but.....I just can't remotely put myself in their mind frame. The sense of it all is void!

I had a U.S. buyer the other day who left positive FB with a comment that shipping was high for the watch that she had purchased. A few days later (I was waiting for it) my DSR's showed a low rating for shipping charges.
If a buyer leaves a negative comment like that I sometimes send a polite message explaining why the shipping rate is that high (or whatever the complaint). This lady sent a message back saying that she had bought 2 other watches around the same time from different buyers and received them within 5 days. Both had S/H rates lower than mine. When I checked through Advanced Search she had purchased them both from the U.S.
This was a buyer with over 300 FB. You would think by now she would know that postal rates differ from one country to another and that delivery time is usually longer.

The mindset is perfectly easy to understand. It is:
No one wants to pay one cent for shipping

I just realized, you mean "boggles" not "boogles".
All of this is causing me to re-evaluate my price and shipping formula. I am losing sales to American sellers who are using free shipping. Even though my final price is lower, they are still buying there. In the interim I am going towards a "price point" model. Sometimes I cover my shipping, sometimes I don't. However, to cover my costs I would need to reduce my widget price to increase my shipping price, to maintain price pointing.
This is getting far too complicated.
Art is correct, no-one wants to see paying for shipping. They want to drink the kool-aid and believe.

I also just had a US buyer drop the "well I've gotten other items quicker than this from Canada" line.

Perhaps ya meant "boogalo"?
Go!
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo, boo.
Back of boogaloo,
What d'yer think i'm gonna do?
I got a flash right from the start.
Wake up, meat head,
Don't pretend that you are dead,
Get yourself up off the cart.
Get yourself together now
And give me something tasty.
Ev'rything you try to do,
You know it sure sounds wasted.
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo.
You think you're a groove,
Standing there in your wallpaper shoes
And your socks that match your eyes.
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.
Get yourself together now
And give me something tasty.
Ev'rything you try to do,
You know it sure sounds wasted.
Back off boogaloo,
What d'yer think i'm gonna do?
I got a flash right from the start.
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.
Back, ba-ba-ba-back!
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.
Back, back, ba-ba-back, come on!
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.
Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.
