The recent change to the search function - which bring up store items in a buyers search (if there are less than 10 auction items fitting the search criteria) has really boosted my sales - I'm doing near Christmas volume, mostly from my store.

Great move, thanks!

Ann do you run a ebay.com store? I was thinking of moving my store to .com just for that very reason.

I do. I didn't realise things were different with a .ca store, but I see now that they are somewhat.

The new search changes on .com really benefit certain store types - books and games being good examples - where the buyer is searching for a particular title.

It's nice when something eBay changes actually has a positive effect 🙂

I have been thinking on it for awhile, my store is quite small, lol dust bunnies outnumber candles. Do you think as a Canadian seller, that it looks funny to move over State side? Does it powerseller status? Oh, can you open a store on the com side if your registered on the ca?
Gosh, I really do sound new, lol!

Nope. I only list on .com I much prefer it as I started out there before there was even a .ca site. The PS status remains the same.

Hi

I have had a .ca store for about a year now - but I have hardly had any sales through the store.
If you guys are getting better response on .com - then my question is do you know whether i can covert my .ca store to .com without closing .ca store first?

Thanks
Manuj

It really works!!!!!! Just a few weeks ago I wanted to definitely close my eBay Store, but now I decided to enlarge my store's offer. I am really surprised - I start to sell items listed months ago!!!!

After zarzuella: "it's nice when something eBay changes actually has a positive effect" ... ;-))))))

Greetings to all Canadian Powersellers and eBay staff...;-))

Like deltone, I registered on ebay before there was a .ca site, so I cannot be of any real help with questons about a .ca/.com store switchover. Anyone tried it?

Thanks for giving eBay a pat on the back, Ann. I couldn't agree with you more about the great change. My listings are somewhat seasonal, so it is hard to say for sure what effect the changes have had, since this is getting into my busiest season, but I am pretty sure there has been a strong positive effect. I was use to selling maybe one or two things from my store per month, and now sell about half a dozen per week... great! And I appreciate the new statistics being provided for free, too. I had no idea so many people were visiting my store! Thanks eBay!

imagination lighted, you have to go to 'create or edit your ebay store', and on the right hand side is something called 'View your store traffic report'. Very good stats-- again, thank you eBay!

I have a .ca store but all my listings are available worldwide. When open the .com site and do a search, my items still show up in the store listings at the bottom of the page. I'm hoping this happens even when the User isn't registered in Canada, but don't know for sure. I have seen an upswing in store sales recently.

If I had it to do over though, I would open my store on .com rather than .ca if only for the bonus features like the tracking info. Everything takes much longer to show up on the .ca site.

You can bet that if your sales have gone up, other seller's sales have gone down (for example, sellers who don't have stores). I doubt that eBay's change to the search function has made every seller suddenly get Christmas-like sales records. The total number of buyers didn't increase, just exposure to certain stores (like yours).
