I'm not familiar with what the "Competition Bureau" looks at, but I hope they take a long hard look at this one.
Pretty soon all the stores will be under the same brand.

the workers get, minimum wage
or check-out machines!

Yeah..........machines!
Life is changing and I'm not liking it.
Talked to several people today but here are the stories of three...
- Truck driver 52 years old. Worked for the same company for 16 years. Company got bought out and they handed out layoff notices a week after the executives gave themselves a salary and bonus raise. Most of the drivers feel the new owners will be hiring people they can get cheaper, right out of truck driving school and desperate for a job.
- Lady 54 years old. Husband had a heart attack and he was laid off work. They had to sell their home. She went to school to become a computer tech and teacher. She's been applying for jobs for near a year and no one wants her because of her age.
- Cabinet maker and furniture maker 59 years old. Does great hand crafted European work but no one is interested anymore like they use to be, so he has given up. He was never expensive but people prefer getting furniture from retail stores that give them a year to pay or Ikea where you get furniture in a box. He figures he's going to try for a job driving school bus.
Spoke to a bank branch manager the other day and in the conversation she said I could do my banking on a bank machine or the internet. I said no, I'd rather talk to a human being. She actually, seemed surprised!

Just thought of what could be done for an encore to Loblaws, though...
How about Bell buys Sobey's / IGA - then we could get Lisa Laflamme's CTV promos directly in the Spam aisle...

Galen Weston reminds me of either a slimey lawyer or a liberal like Mcguinty or wynne

prentis trrying to butter up natives in whitehorse and afn assembly.
Unfortunately health issues had me not able to travel to this assembly. I would have had a mouthful for prentis in the corridors.
Key are the treaty rights that have been ignored and continue to be ignored by all level of governments for a long time.
Until treaty talks begin and are rectified there will be no natural resource development.
It is the natives who will dictate who are the partners and what goes down where, not the feds, not harper etc.
Great to see wally fox hosting a rival treaty assembly in his own back yard as the afn assembles.
Would not be surprised if they send bellegard on his way
I like atleo personally,professionally, testicleless

I get asked this all the time. I have been dealing at this branch since 1981.
When asked why I don't bank online, I have one standard answer: "Because if everybody banked on line, you would be out of a job."
- Cabinet maker and furniture maker 59 years old.
I have a brother-in-law who is a talented furniture maker. He turns down work all the time because there are not enough hours in the day. He keeps albums of every piece he has made or every job he has done. They used to be in photo albums, but are now on line. People can see the type and quality of the work he does. He is an artist with wood and people line up to get overcharged for his furniture.

Another thing I've been told several times,
"you can still pay the pennies if you want to"
