MightyBids...Any Comments

There's a new player on the block. It seem that MightyBids has been around a few years now but they just seemed to crop up in the news this past week.
I just listed a couple of things this morning and although they don't have all the Bells and Whistles that ebay has, their rates are much lower. You can list for 0$ and only pay a Final value fee if sold. Check it out.
Any comments?

Well, the site looks to be designed to be as much like eBay as possible, they even follow eBay's UID process.

Like most non-eBay auction sites you can't really gauge how well things sell because there does not appear to be any ability to search for completed listings. Looking through running listings, there doesn't seem to be a lot of bids for items. You would have to do your own marketing in which case I think the final value fees for this site are high. eBay's fees are high but they do bring the eyeballs that will actually see your listings.

In my opinion it would be better to spend any time you would on a site like this on Yahoo or Google Base because they have no fees and your listings will end up in their search engines.

Personally I would waste any more than the 2 minutes I gave up a few weeks ago when I looked at this site.

There is no activity, in my category there are essentially no listings and the ones that exist are the usual junk from what I can only assume are the same "sellers" who list on all these "new" auction sites that pop up on a regular basis.

If you have a couple of thousand dollars and some rudementary tech skills you can set up your own auction site quite easily with off the shelf software. All you need then is several billion dollars and you can start your campaign for world domination.
