Need advice re returns.

A U.S. buyer purchased one ring from me in late March. Then she placed an order for 8 rings, all BIN, which were shipped on Apr. 8. Then she sent me an email tonight and made another purchase before I had a chance to respond.

She wants to return 6 of the 8 rings she purchased. Apparently she bought them "on approval". They are identical except for the design. She could have ordered 1 if all she wanted to see was the quality.

Is it possible to have her return the rings and file a mutual cancellation on a partial order? I don't see how that would work as the shipping is for the entire order. If I just refund the purchase price there is no way that I can see to get my FVF's back.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Judy,

I know that you used to be able to select individual items from a combined invoice when going through a mutual cancellation, but it has been a while since I've done it and it may have changed. Try it without completing it to find out?

On approval. Love it. Hope she plans to pay the shipping!

She will definitely be paying for the shipping.

I just tried to file a mutual for one item in the Resolution Centre and it looks like it will work. I have never had a partial order returned before unless it was for exchange.

That did work. I emailed the buyer first and explained the process to her. She hadn't realized that we paid a FVF. Now that she knows maybe she won't make a habit of buying things and then returning most of them.

At least she decided to keep one more of the rings and purchased 2 additional ones....:-)
