regarding the 20% discount on FVF promo. I just want to make sure I have this straight in my head.
If I activate the FVF promo I will pay an insertion fee, even if I have also activated the Free listing promo????
Or in other words - Once I activate this offer, any listings I post will come from this promo and NOT the free listing promo??? so if I want free listings I should NOT activate the FVF promo?
If I decide to activate the FVF promo and an item sells. I will get a 20% discount on the FVF including shipping costs?
I already get a 20% TRS discount but as I understand it this is on selling price only and is not discounted on shipping fees.
Assuming I have activated the FVF promo, will I get my 20% TRS discount on the selling price and then another 20% discount on the FVF including shipping costs per this promo?
Anyone have a quick formula I can pop into an Excel Spreadsheet in order to calculate all this?

Your questions can be answered by careful reading of the terms and conditions of that specific promotion:
Eligible sellers (“sellers”) who activate the offer and then list in the fixed price format, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein, will receive a 20% discount on final value fees (“Promotion”) for the first 100,000 listings created during the Promotion Period, as defined below. Only 30-day and Good ‘Til Cancelled listing durations are eligible for the Promotion. The Promotion does not apply to insertion fees or optional advanced listing upgrade and supplemental service fees.
Discounted final value fees will be applied to the total amount of the sale, including the cost of the item, shipping, and any other fees a seller may charge—excluding any sales tax. All existing selling limits on your account (as well as category and item limits) still apply, and may prevent you from creating the maximum number of listings in this Promotion. View the everyday rate plan for full details.
Please note that discounted final value fees will be applied to the seller’s first 100,000 sold items, for a listing that was created during the Promotion Period, after the seller activates the offer.

yes, Pierre, I read that and that is why I asked the questions. Excuse me for my stupidity but I find it quite confusing, and the questions still stand if anyone else cares to answer

free listings and 20% off fvf item & shipping when you activate both

That is great if that's how it works.
I am worried that activating the FVF promo will defeat the Free listing promo, because the count (of listings) will be deducted from whichever one is activated first.
I'm so confused. Wouldn't it have been easier for the numerically challenged like myself to just have one promo? Free listings plus FVF discount?
Usually I just experiment. Last time they had a FVF discount it was for 5 listings, so I activated it and then listed 5 high priced items before activating the Free Listing promo. I can't experiment with this one though, because I don't have that many listings.

The count for the fvf discount promo doesn't change until you sell an item that was listed sometime during the promotion period. So as toby said, you can use your free listings and when they sell you will get the fvf discount as long as that promo was activated when the item was listed.

OK, thanks, my mind must have blanked out while reading these promos. I didn't get that at all. I'll read again, hope it makes sense next time. In the meantime I will take your word for it. 🙂
Thanks again
