Shipping to Indonesia.

Has any of you guys shipped to Indonesia?
How was your experience and how is the postal system over there.
Your input is greatly appreciated.
NB. I have already lost an item to South Africa and would like to minimize the loss of another item.
I know nothing is for certain but all the same I would like to know your thoughts in this matter.
Thank you.

Shipping to Indonesia.

I ship to Indonesia every couple of months, maybe 20 times in total. Delivery times are bit slow, 3 weeks at least. Faster than most parts of South America, can't comment on Africa because after 15 years of selling It's still the "dark continent" for me.

Hi, I am just a small time seller who really cannot afford to lose money or get defects.  Even though I have visited a lot of the countries I am not shipping to these places, just not worth the risk, most have a terrible postal system. One parcel got lost shipping to the Philippines. One to Canada, but I believe he received it and just said he didn't.

I excude:

Excludes: Africa, Central America and Caribbean, Middle East, South America, Russian Federation, Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Gibraltar, Greece, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Svalbard and Jan Mayen, Ukraine, Vatican City State, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan Republic, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna, Western Samoa, Mexico, Saint Pierre and Miquelon

A funny list. I wonder what on the list do countries much more rich and developed than Canada? Do you really think Liechtenstein or Gibraltar have terrible postal system? 😉 I sent hundreds of parcels to at least 20 countries you listed. All arrived to their destinations.

Hi, I have sent parcels to many of those too without any problems. I used to send everywhere, now I just don't want to risk it anymore. Why should I have to?

I am not talking about the idea itself, but rather about a rather strange choice of countries. Why do you think JERSEY is risky? It's one of the safest and richest parts of Western Europe.  And Liechtenstein's median income per capita is 140.000 USD (almost 3 times higher than in Canada!).  An extremely rich and extremely well developed country. Just wonder how did you choose these countries? A pure curiosity ... Smiley Happy

Of course you don't have to. But do you realize that St Pierre and Miquelon are small islands almost in Canada, just a few miles off the South West corner of Newfoundland.

Probably the same way as most of these lists get created....simply by copying from other listings from people who copied other listings who copied other listing who added countries they "heard" were bad.

It's the only explanation for having countries like Greece (which has excellent postal service) or even Italy which in 2006 - 2009 has terrible problems and earned a reputation on eBay they may never live down regardless of the fact that the service to Italy is now reasonably good.

It's funny but Germany has had terrible customs delays in the past few years yet it's rarely on any of these lists, likely because at one time service to Germany was both fast and reliable.

If ya want true safety, hand deliver. 100% guaranteed is not possible, anywhere.

I have shipped more than a few parcels to Malaysia, but, not Indonesia.

That said, even a Mexican friend says not to ship to Mexico.

Cut out Canada, US, Chile, Mexico, and I have never lost a parcel in 12 years.

My only lost parcels are two to South Africa, One to Italy, One to Brazil, and a couple to the USA. Oh, yeah a one to the distant foreign country of Quebec, that CPC reimbursed me for. I no longer ship to Africa, Mexico or Brazil .
