Every manufacturer has different measurements for the sizes they call their clothes. FWIW, the more expensive the garment the more generous the cut.
I've been trying to buy jeans recently and the first pair were too big, even though that was the size on my old jeans. So I ordered the next size down. Still too big. So I ordered the next size down. Too small.
Your best bet is when you find something you like, contact the seller and ask for the actual measurements of the garment and compare them to the measurements of your child.
At the same time, ask about the cost of shipping to Canada and whether they seller uses the outrageously expensive Global Shipping Program (You want shipment by post which is cheaper, and faster)
