Does anyone know what a lion passant facing right would be? I have only seen English pieces with the lion passant facing left. Thanks.
Here is a photo and brief description:

We apologize for the size, however, the description is as follows:
- Maker's mark "GSB"
- Male sovereign head facing right in square (not shield or rounded corners)
- Date mark capital "H" in square (not shield or rounded corners)
- Lion passant (facing right)
- No assay office
If it helps, this fork came in a lot of similar forks that all had the London assay mark.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is it possible that it is American, made by Gorham?

Here is the truth about your silver and it is good news.
Your fork was made by George Stairs Brown of Halifax, known in 1844. He was a working silversmith who moved to Yarmouth.

A bit nore info...
When a piece of silver has three initials, a head and a lion - think Canadian. That is our MO.
This book that I refer to has a great hallmark section. The OP's fork hallmark is there in blcak and white.
An extension of our silver heritiage is that Birks of Montreal than went around the provinces and acquired a lot of these little guys and then continued to sell their stuff even after the original owners went out of business.

Lisa, you are a veritable silver mine of knowledge! I'm better with gold, but that's my passion...and let me tell you, it is. I'm sitting here at recess time at school checking ebay. There is a sale that starts at 4 today, and I'm going to run as fast as I can to my car, and boogie on over. Preview was yesterday, I know what I want, and I'm just counting the hours!
I'm pathetic! I can retire in June...or not...but it seems that my heart is with my jewels!

Hey, Lisa, I'm the "common-sewer" of gold trivia! LOL
A bunch of collectables, some old furniture, house and barn contents, etc. There was an 18k ring and bracelet that I was after...
There is one terrific looking auction coming up in Guelph, on Tuesday, I think...some judge's things...might be worth the drive, but then again, likely pretty high priced...
