In 1999 I with others set up pirate radio station called DRK RADIO.
It was great fun and lasted for about one year.
There was some great djs playing blues to rock pop and a bit of everything.
The djs names were in code so the powers that be did not know who we were.
There was the silver fox

Togge
Chris Carroll
And many more.
What I would like to do now is start it again on this board.

The Supremes were icons of their time. There’s probably not a person out there who is over 50 who cannot attach one of their tunes to a time in their life. The sad part was what happened to Florence Ballard.

73, October, I was on the road. Just riding, meeting people. One night it rained. I parked the m/c beside a phone booth and I slept in the vertical hotel. 6am I emerged from my bed….the room being equipped with a phone was a luxury. The asphalt streets were soaked as if someone had poured liquid glass on them. A foggy dew hung over the town. I made my way down the highway to a restaurant that had just flipped its sign to OPEN as it woke itself into the world of free enterprise, the owner scraping a living one egg and one slice of toast at a time. I sat in a booth, alone in the abyss of the morning and watched a young girl, half asleep, obviously not ready to work, filling ketchup bottles to the best of her ability. Watered down ketchup ran down the sides of the bottles and onto the counter, as some crime of unspeakable mention had not been reported yet. The Pfizer commercial was pure class. I’ve seen it before but I always enjoy an advertising agency that really thinks about their Ads. In Canada we do not see enough good Ads.
