What gives with functionality?

I just got beat on an item because this site is screwy tonight.  I should have an active countdown clock AND updates on new bids on an item i have bid on and got neither one tonight.  This is terrific...i got sniped because the site isn't working properly.  Nice work folks!

Bid once, bid late, bid your max.

Then if someone bids more than you do, he was foolish enough to pay too much.
