A very valid point Glenda... PayPal will of course tell us that it is coming to Canada before long or that the logistics are not in place to offer it to Canadian buyers.
Of course, we should be allowed to charge them for the advertising space within our auctions. I have never authorized them to advertise and make money from my auctions or listings so I am uncertain how they determine they can get a free ride.
It's similar to eBay adding the little "Selling Manager Pro" logo into my listings when I have created inventory and list from that inventory. They use the logo to attract new users of the feature (advertising) and yet charge a substantial sum on a monthly basis for me to use the feature. It would seem to me that it would be only fair that I be allowed to charge them for the space within my listings that is used to promote a feature that they alone make money from.
Or, as an alternative, perhaps they should be paying me per click on the logos that they insert into my listings without my expressed permission. That way we can both share the wealth that eBay generates at the sole cost of sellers.
