Why is my ad in Canadian funds when previous ones were always in US funds?

Why is my ad in Canadian funds when previous ones were always in US funds?

That is because you selected Canadian dollar as the currency of the listing.  In previous listings you had selected US dollars.

Selection of the currency (Cdn$ or US$) is one of the first steps on the listing form when listing on eBay.ca.

Actually, you need to choose "Switch to Advanced tool" on the top right on the listing form to list in US currency. There isn't much difference between the simplified and advanced forms so they basically want to try to hide away the ability to list in USD or force us to list in CAD by not having that simple option available to us on the quick listing tool.

????

Where do you get that?  Quite the contrary, eBay.ca has always suggested Canadian sellers list in US$ claiming they will get a higher price.

The currency selection is offered by default near the top of the listing form (SYI3) if you list using eBay's form.

Then you're not up to date because that's the option for the Advanced form (Advanced tool). The default form since the new My Ebay Summary update a couple of days ago, which is part of the quick listing tool, does not have the US currency option (See on the top right corner for the "Switch to advanced tool/switch to quick listing tool").

Here's the new default listing form if you're not aware:

I am sorry, but that is not my default listing form.... I still have the same one Pierre is talking about... very strange that you have a new format... do you use Listing Manager or any similar tool? That might explain the difference, because I do not use any of these.

Click on "Sell" on the top screen and that's what shows up after you choose the category. Did any of you received the new update that rolled out a couple of days ago? With the listings showing only in CAD on the Summary page and this at the bottom:

I just did (April 21st, 2:12pm EST).  Clicked on SELL

My first option is to select the currency as stated earlier.  I do not know why you get something different.  It may be eBay experiencing with some sellers or some specific categories.

As mentioned yesterday, eBay.ca has been suggesting to Canadian sellers to list in US$ for fifteen years.  They have stats showing better results for sellers when listing in US$.  It would not make any sense for them to reverse that long standing policy at this time.

Then maybe it's only sellers with eBay Stores who get to see the "Advanced form" by default or eBay Canada is rolling the new update in batches such as some are getting the update now and the rest of the members will get it later. Either way, the new quick form only has the option to sell in Canadian currency unless you choose the "advanced tool" on the top right as shown in my embedded pic.

"Then maybe it's only sellers ..."

Only staff at eBay can really answer that question.  To avoid speculation, I suggest you ask them tomorrow during the Board Hour at 1:00pm (Eastern).

Well I was right then, and it awfully confused (and still confuses) a lot of people.
