eBay Bugs & Issues Thread

Hi Everyone,

We are starting a new thread here for you to post your concerns when you encounter an eBay issue or bug and have un-tacked the previous thread that has been around since the beginning of 2008.

Here are some important things to point out:

1. This is not eBay Customer Support. All bugs and site issues should be reported to CS to ensure that they are escalated & tracked. You can report issues to CS using Contact Us. Enter a brief description of the issue you are encountering into the search box and select the most appropriate topic(s).

2. We would like to keep this thread as organized and purpose-driven as possible. If you don't have a bug or site issue to discuss, please consider posting to a different board/thread.

3. Provide as much detail as possible when describing your Issue.

We are very aware that some areas of the way our sit works need to be worked on and do believe that these discussions are the best way to get better. We can;t always fox everytihng and what works for some sellers might actually hurt others so it's always a tough exercise to make changes but we are listening and I can assure you that we are doing our best to answer seller and buyers and do whatever we can to help them be succesful on the site. 🙂

Are there issues with the site right now ? I am trying to put up a new listing and after the first screen and choosing the catagory to be listed in no matter what I do I get the follwing error. If I try and go back nothing happens and refresh does not work, I have tried 3 diff browsers as well and no go

Hi Kalvin!

Are we allowed to sell movies that are a Promotional Copy or books that are a publisher's copy as long as we state that?

I have a VHS that states "Promotional copy only. Not for sale or rent." It seems obvious... However, I paid for it because it is hard to find and now I am thinking of selling it. Please advise.

I am just about ready to throw in the towel after 5 years ebay just makes navigation more difficult.
This time it is messages
1. I can only view 10 at a time
2. I can not search for a particular buyer

Basically I am have grave difficult locating messages anyone else?

Yep looks like I am done with the sitting on the phone for 2 hours requesting info on a stupid simple problem...but still have the live box open for 4 hours.

All of that information is in the "your item sold" email from ebay.

What is with the captcha when you want to contact another user? Like when I go to send a message to a seller I am in the middle of a purchase with, I have to enter a bunch of numbers to send him a message. It says it's to prevent automated registered accounts from sending spam. Why not add a captcha at the REGISTRATION instead of having everybody enter these damn things at each message?

I mean, really! Just make it more difficult for troublemakers instead of everybody .

The information is there. Click on View Order Details in the drop down link to the right of the item in question. Frankly, I prefer the emails because eBay only keeps the info on site for sellers to view for 14 days. Unless you delete the email, you'll always have it.

has anyone else had problems with trying to confirm you comply with international listing polivy

some of my items asked me to confirm that i complied with ebays policy on international listing i ticked the box and nothing happened it refused to work

on .com i have 3 listings asking for me to confirm and 12 on .ca and on .ca it shows a fee for confirming

i reported these problems and i get shaun from ebay reply with a listing restriction notification on my items

i told him in reply the confimation box did not work

what was his response simple he banned me from listing on .com until i complied with the request to confirm international compliance

Why are people using the word "issue" in place of "problem?" I expect it's to avoid the negative connotation that "problem" has. It is perhaps a way for companies and people to avoid taking responsibility for problems by simply making the word go away. "Issues" is NOT a synonym for "problems."

I wondered why ebay sellers in the U.S. who sell collectibles can afford to put up so many photos so I asked my favourites. They told met ebay sellers in the U.S. who sell collectibles can put up as many pics as they want for free. Is it true? If so, when will we have this super advantage?
