eBay messaging - questions do not get marked as answered

I am starting to use eBay messaging via REPLY button, seems to work faster for me.

But questions do not get marked as answered and the replies do not show up in the "Sent" folder.

I can still track my own messaging and use Thunderbird, whose Search got very fast from version 3.x.

Btw. eBay messaging screen got even lousier than it was before with measly last 25 messages and no usable search feature so I have to click next and search via browser ON THE SCREEN in titles.

Lately I come here to complain mostly, and I start sounding like old hypochonder. I will stop now.

The eBay messaging system was, is and will likely remain the dinosaur that it is. It is just that, a messaging system akin to Twitter with a higher character limitation.

We like to woo customers with proper formatting, fonts, links, pics, etc, as required to answer the question or communicate with them in general, something that is not possible with the system in use now.

We now include our email address and tel. # in the signature field, together with store logo.

There is now also a little flaw in there that works to our advantage and seems to circumvent what would normally be suppressed by the algorithm. I'm sure it will be "fixed" at some point 😄

i used outlook as i can search and find out when the message was replied with all its history.

But sometimes the customer email does not show and customer reported back they never received any emails back from us and we got ding for communication rating 😞

In some cases we copied the replied text and send the client a copy via contact seller, but that does not seem to work anymore as it kept asking you to type in the security word on the screen. (it's always wrong no matter what you typed in)
