I have a buyer who wants to return an item as it's the wrong size.
What exact instructions do I give him regarding the return process?
What does he click on etc . Is there a drop down menu? I should know this but I don't. Usually when I get a return the buyer has already gone through the correct process and I issue the refund etc
Thanks for your help

You could point your buyer to this help page and take things from there:

Tell him to return the item with Confirmed Delivery.
As soon as it arrives, check that it is in the same condition you sent, then go to Paypal and from his original payment, refund him.

An honest seller has no reason for confirmed delivery. They will know they have the item and do the refund. Confirmed delivery is for the benefit of buyers who are doubtful about sellers.

afantiques is right of course.
But it is worth mentioning it as a public relations gesture to keep the trust of an unhappy customer.

It's not necessary for them to go through the return system but if you want them to do that, they should be able to click on return request in their purchase history. If a buyer hasn't already opened a return request I just give them my address info and some information about the best shipping service to use. If they are in the U.S., many don't know that first class international has delivery confirmation only if they buy it online so I tell them they can buy that through paypal.com/shipnow. Canadians can no longer use that link but they can use it in the U.S.
Once the item has been returned, you can click on cancel transaction in your sold history using the reason that buyer asked for cancellation and ebay will refund them and cancel the transaction. If it longer than 30 days since the purchase, you would have to refund through paypal.
I'm assuming this is a buyer's remorse return.
