Didn't you hear, ebay turned out the lights and went home.   I usually sell about 50-80 items per month, I have only sold 6.

Some of the lights are burnt out and never fixed either!

How many Ebay employees does it take to fix a light bulb?

They will take it under advisement and get back to us.

I was just reading on the amazon forums - people there are complaining about a slow March as well, particularly this past week.

I can only speak for myself but because there are no promos ,( which stops additional listing into my category)  I really think this is a contributing factor to me having a decent month. So far.

Ebay is a community of buyers and seller but, more importantly, sellers who are buyers, and vice versa.

When sales slump, so do purchases.

Whenever possible, I like to use the balance of my paypal account from selling to assist in purchasing so as to disrupt my other finances as little as possible. It should also be noted that now payapl is accepted more places so my purchases are spread thinner with different merchants whereas they once were almost always ebay-related merchants.

But this is a slow time of year in general, I find. Valentines Day is over and Easter is still mostly about chocolate and not expensive gift-giving, to my mind. Sales will ramp up again in summer.

Plus, stores are getting new stock both online and brick-and-mortar so it really is a good time of year to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE and go shop places. And postage in the USA was recently increased so that is a tough pill to swallow for some people.

And then there is also the general consumer behaviour when things seem uncertain due to low oil prices here, and political turmoil south of the border. When all the news seems bad, it makes people want to hold on to their hard-earned dough, not splurge.

Unless it's LEGO. We could be starving here and I'd probably still be buying it for the kids. And myself. My retirement plans include living in a van built of LEGO down by the river.

SALES, really. And here I thought that the dysfunctional ebay search engine had stopped doing "brown outs" and just gave all Canadian sellers a "black out" for this month, hence no promos!!!!!

Sure, some of us have had the "token" sales so as not to figure this months search engine roulette spin. Ebay just hasn't learned yet that Canadians maybe all peaceful, warm and fuzzy but don't underestimate our mentality.

All joking aside, I have tried to be productive and just go with; it's a bad month and mental note to look at taking next March off.
