Just as the title states...
Why do so many listings on eBay.ca specify that the item will not ship to Canada?
Very frustrating when the majority of search results are not available to Canada.
What is the point of listing it on eBay CANADA when it's not available to CANADA?????????

can you give an example?

You are searching on ebay.ca and not on ebay.com ?
You can narrow the search by checking off Canada Only but I haven't (in the last couple of months) come across any shipping problems with having eBay Canada checked.

Yes.
Here is an example: http://www.ebay.ca/sch/?_nkw=globe%20sight&clk_rvr_id=686084681899
None of the globe sights ship to Canada, the 2 air gun sights excluded.. Items 1-3 and item 7 are actual globe sights, none of which ship to Canada.
It makes no sense to include items that aren't available to Canada on eBay.ca.

Yes I'm searching on eBay.ca
I made that very clear

In the listing 400641538425 the seller selects:
"Ships to: Worldwide"
Also, the seller provides eBay with a shipping cost to Canada.
Yet, the seller adds in the subtitle and the description: "NOT AVAILABLE FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING!!"
Clearly the seller in this instance is to blame for the item being shown on eBay.ca but not available to Canadians.

Items listed for sale on eBay.ca should be available to ship to Canada.
Having to specify Canada after a search of the CANADIAN eBay sight seems redundant to me and a wasted effort.
The results returned from the initial search should be available to Canada.

I see reading comprehension is an issue on this forum....
Your example is one of the airgun sights that I specifically excluded....

"I see reading comprehension is an issue on this forum...."
That comment in not necessary. I simply tried to give you an easy example explaining why some listings are shown on eBay.ca when they should not.
Please ignore my comment. There could be other reasons why other listings are shown but I certainly do not have the time to play detective.

My bad...
My frustration with this particular eBay failing spilled over to you folks who were just trying to help.
eBay.ca is the only place the correct answer could possibly come from...
It is now painfully obvious that this forum works as well as the eBay.ca search function.
My thanks and apologies to all who attempted to answer my question.

Probably for the same reason that eBay encourages sellers to tell potential customers that customs and sales taxes from another nation are the business of the buyer not of the seller.
It is not a seller's responsibility to understand the vagarities of the import regulations of the 178 countries in the United Nations.
If the seller ships internationally, but lists on eBaydotCOM, any of his listings that are legal in the USA, will show on any site regardless of the laws of that country. (Okay, sellers get warnings about some categories like Nazi stuff that is illegal to own in Germany.)
Since you now know that these items can't be imported, you have learned something useful.
You may not get the advice or commiseration you want, but you did get what you need.
