I stumbled across this is another Discussion Forum thread. Somehow, I don't know how news of this could have escaped my attention unless it's because I don't hang around the USA Boards.

Requirements for independent Feedback review
To be eligible for independent Feedback review, the Feedback comment must meet these conditions:
The Feedback comment must have been left for you as a result of any purchase in eBay Motors > Cars & Trucks, or for a purchase of $300 or more in all other categories.
This must be the first time you've requested a review for this Feedback comment.
You must request the review while the listing is still available on eBay.com, approximately 60 to 90 days after the end of the listing.
The listing must have appeared on eBay.com. This service isn't available outside the US.
We are going to have to ask Raphael about this on Wednesday.

Does it means the Canadian sellers with items under $300 USD aren't eligible? Because the service isn't available outside the USA? Or because we're too low-value to warrant it? And how long before the Feedback Specialists vanish completely? Or am I overreacting.
Maybe a Motors guy will come along and tell me it's no biggie, this has been around for decades.

The eBay link says it is only available for purchases of $300 or more. Does this mean that a negative is more "unfair" if the price of the item is high? A negative on a $20 item doesn't qualify?
I must not be reading right. Well here's a bit no one will want to overlook:
If I pay for IFR, will I get a refund if the feedback is not removed?

I just thought the same thing! It obviously is what leaps out the most. Who sets a dollar value on an unjustified negative? How stupid is that!

I'm unclear on the point of allowing a third-party private for-fee service to operate within the ebay World when this is what their own Customer Service is supposed to be doing and presumably doing well already. It smells like a two-tiered health care system.
Google search makes it sounds like these guys are nothing new. Maybe it used to be just for Motors and now is open to other categories for high-end high-value sellers?
I've scoured those feedback help pages a million times looking for clues on how requests for revision of how feedback and/or defects are handled and I don't remember ever seeing mention of these guys and this service prior to this.
I'm puzzled.
Mr. E will probably surface in a day to say, 'Yeah, no big deal. They've been here forever.' And then I'll look like a stooge.

They might not find that as galling as we do. We don't get to use it on .CA listings even if we want to. It does look as if eBay CS is not able to do its job. The eBay page says
We remove ratings if NetNeutrals determines that the member who seeks the removal has clearly and convincingly shown one or more of the following:
and then lists a bunch of reasons for acceptable removal.
Isn't eBay supposed to be able to determine that the FB needs to be removed? Doesn't it make you wonder how often those PAID requests result in a removal where the free eBay requests failed? Is there any correlation between paying for a FB review and sucessful removal? Does

mean that the person must not have contacted even eBay first but going directly to NetNeuts? In other words, does trying and failing to get eBay to remove a neg disqualify the person from trying a NN appeal?

I don't think it stretches credulity to assume that anyone who's ever had to call the Feedback Specialists at Customer Service didn't finally hang up the phone, gnashing their teeth, and wish there was a better way. Paying that much, however, doesn't seem like the right way.
I could see charging a fee, maybe, if you could be guaranteed people might actually listen to you. And understand what you are saying.
And also to discourage pests with gratuitous cases.
That's a lot of money.

After my google search, I found similar stuff to that. Bad news for good buyers but good news for bad car sellers, it sounds like.
Is the expansion to areas outside Motors for items valued at USD $300+ the new aspect?

Interesting! I wondered if there were thoughts around on that. This says
Netneturals charges customers 100 dollars, and does a so called arbitration... that somehow always goes in favor of the person paying the 100 bucks
and I thought they must have a good rate of FB removal or for that amount of money they would soon become known as a waste of money with no result. If eBay is more likely to accept the verdict of NN and remove a negative rather than make their own final decision, won't that seem to people like sellers can buy feedback removal through this off eBay source?

It seems a bit off, like if everyone opening a case with Neuters was so just in doing so that there was such a high rate of successful removal, then we should be able to count on the Feedback Specialists to see it that way too?
I'm thinking of a seven-letter word that starts with the letter B.
And also that if I was in the position to drop $130 USD on a Neuter, I'd darn well expect results. Or no one would ever use them again.
It just doesn't look right from any angle.

Also, I didn't know ebay members were allowed to slag-off other parties in Guides? What if someone wrote a Guide that says, 'mjwl2006 stinks like an elephant's butt and has bony girl arms' ...? Would that be allowed to stand?
(We'll see who the true fans of The Simpsons are around here now.)

Or binary.
Three syllables.
