I did ship 1 comic today to Alberta from Nfld by Fedex and it cost the buyer $45...Canada Post would cost around $4.50 taxes in........nobody is going to be buying comics with that price of shipping..........I just hope Ebay realizes the cost associated with shipping by alternate companies, which I don't think they do.

It is not eBay's responsibility for whatever choice is made by the seller for the shipping company used...

eBay enters into agreements with shipping companies that are integrated into the ebay's shipping options for any discounts offered so if there is no ageement between the company and eBay, there is no discount. Thusly it is the seller's responsibility to choose the best option and that includes choosing the best option under whatever circumstances prevail. Please, try to understand that NOT everything is eBay's fault! ...and that whether or not "Ebay realizes the cost associated with shipping by alternate companies, .." is NOT necessarily something that eBay can do anything about...

Please keep in mind it is also seller's choice to stay "open for business" during this difficult time.

I've been trying not to sell, while staying open.

I cannot explain why.

First stopped making new listings, because New Listings are a popular Search and lead to sales.

Then I dropped all my PL listings, because PL leads to Views which lead to sales.

Now I am dropping all my About to Close listings, because About to Close is a popular Search and lead to sales.

I currently have over 500 Unsold Listings and 35 Drafts ready to reload as soon as the strike is over.

Fortunately December tends to be a very slow month for me in any case. But January (really Boxing Day) to March is my busy period.
This is so painful for our colleagues who count on November /December sales.

Dang.

Two more sales today, even though I haven't listed anything in nearly a month, and have closed enough "about to close" listings to put me under 1000 listings.

Well, at least the parties are back at the table. We might have postal service by mid-week.
