Ebay seems to have a lot of issues with invoicing. Two main problems:
- Since yesterday 06/25 it has been impossible to make combined invoices, the following message is always displayed: There is some technical error, please try after sometime. At the moment I have over 4000 items that need combining and a mailbox full of messages from buyers who want there invoice which I can not provide.
- We indicate a handling time of 3 days, Ebay seems to change this handling unilaterally to same day shipping for some invoices, I have not yet found the logic behind it. The issue is that many paid invoices are marked with overdue shipping which reflects on our seller status.
Some action from ebay to resolve these is would be appreciated as this is costing us both a lot of money (no invoices to print = no orders to prepare = staff being paid to do nothing) and reputation.

We've had that error message or a similar one on the Canadian site for a while though I'm not sure if the US site where you list has the same problem. Sellers who have had that problem here have said that even though they get an error message, the buyer is actually getting the invoice. If you check off to send a copy of the invoice to your email and you get it, I think that it is safe to say that the buyer also received it.
Both the US and Canadian site have posts about their shipping time changing to same day whenever they send a combined invoice so hopefully they are working on that the other 'bug'.
You might want to post on the US Technical Issues board to see if they have come up with any solutions.

I got the same error message when trying to send an invoice today for a single item.
The highly experienced buyer contacted me to say that no matter how he tried eBay was not letting him pay for the item, an auction listing that ended last evening.
I tried to send him a fresh invoice thinking that may resolve things but I got this error message on the screen after clicking send
'There was a technical error - please try again in a moment.'
The odd thing is that eBay did not seem to recognize the buyer as residing in Ontario. eBay initially asked me to insert province in the sales tax box but then a text error message appeared
'The state you selected is not matching with buyer's state. Please select valid state'
My store is on eBay.ca, it was a C$ listing and the buyer lives in Ontario.
In the summary box at the bottom all of the information was correct including the province code and sales tax so I clicked send and got the
'There was a technical error - please try again in a moment.'
on a new page.
Support clerk at eBay was able to replicate the error and has forwarded to the technical dept.
Anyone else with this problem today?

This seems to be a glitch that comes and goes, since this thread goes back to June.
Good catch if the clerk was able to replicate it.
