Re: July 15 2020 Weekly Session

Since my previous post remains unanswered I am re-posting it here.

Has the new shipping label creation feature that was announced as part of the eBay spring update seen any progress? Since I will be moving to managed payments, I would like to use a shipping label tool that will use funds from my Managed Payment bank account, rather than PayPal, which Shippo uses today, and of course PayPal labels uses as well. Managed Payments is coming quickly, and there appears to have been no progress with the eBay feature.

Re: July 15 2020 Weekly Session

Hi Tyler,
I found Sime's answer to this concern a bit vague.

I recently had a sale for which I was mailing lettermail/stamps and was about to write the address on my envelope from what was shown on the ebay notification.  No need to go to paypal as I was not printing a label.  I thought it was missing something so I checked what was on Paypal.    It was different on Paypal.

I contacted the buyer who confirmed the Paypal address was correct & ebay wrong.

So the point of my long winded post (sorry) and I think a concern of previous poster, how can ebay get the many buyer's incorrect address's fixed.  Perhaps, like ebay is sending email messages to sellers, they could email all members a notice to "update your address."

Thank you,  Judith

Because as i have seen many, many times people who have moved never update their address on ebay, only on paypal,, Because that is the only address that ever needed to be correct..

If ebay says we need to mail to the address listed on ebay, there will be a lot of people not getting their items until, they update their address..

Hi @esclyons - You’re right that we’ll notify you that payment has been received and that an item is good to ship. We’ll always ask you to ship to the address that the buyer uses at checkout.

Will Canadian (ebay.com & .ca) sellers get a full final value fee credit when buyers use a sellers affiliate link from eBay Partner Network to purchase their item, like US EPN sellers?

The only time that you should see 2 different addresses now is BEFORE the buyer has paid so is it possible that you were looking at the eBay address before they paid? Currently  when a buyer pays they can pick the address they want that item shipped to and that is the address you will see on both eBay and Paypal after payment.  It doesn’t have to be the address registered on either site.

I'm sure  that MP will work the same way.  The seller will only see the payment address regardless of the registration address.  It is up to the buyer to make sure the correct address is showing at the time of payment.

Hi @flyhooks4less - apologies for not getting you an effective answer when you asked this last. Currently there is an issue with the rollout that is preventing the team from releasing it. There are still plans to offer this as a service, but the go-live date is uncertain.

If you are activated into managed payments you can still use both PayPal and Shippo label services, but you would need to utilize a different funding source while you wait for your payout to hit your bank account.

Thanks!

Has there been any luck with Print Shipping Label situation. This error is almost at a week. Still the only work around is go to GoShippo or Paypal directly.

Hi @lucitabby - an incorrect address is definitely concerning! There aren't currently plans to email buyers and ask them to ensure their addresses are up to date, since we do give them the chance to set the address of their choice when they check out.

In order to be protected from an eBay perspective we require you to ship to the address that the buyer inputs at checkout on eBay.

If you were in payments and the same 'spider sense' started tingling you'd want to contact the buyer through eBay messages to double check. However, as long as you sent an item to the address we provided you are protected in the event that you can prove and attempted or actual delivery. Thanks!

Hi @pokemon.store - currently the eBay Partner Network promotion for Final Value Fees is limited to eBay sellers who are registered on eBay.com with a US address, enrolled in the eBay Partner Network, and meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards. There are no similar promotions that have been announced for eBay Canada members.
