Barcode scanner not working for listings

I use the barcode scanner on my iPhone to search items all of the time but when I try to do a listing and scan the barcode it will not except the identical barcode that I just successfully used to search the item.

I want to individually list a large lot of classical music CDs and really don’t want to type everything in

I have the same problem and I am first time seller. My item is being sold by others how do I get around not being able to scan barcodes as it gives me no other options to put my listings in manually.
