VINTAGE CHRISTIAN DIOR HAUTE COUTURE RUNWAY MACHINE AGE DECO EARRINGS

"The items listed this week were all pulled for a Vogue shoot in Europe that may be featured in issues of American or International Vogue. *IF* they do appear the winner will receive a signed copy of Vogue from me personally (of course you will receive your piece of jewelry right after the auction is paid for but I will keep your address to mail you the magazine) I work with socialite women in Manhattan that usually only wear there pieces to events once and then I get to purchase there treasures !"

I wonder how many buyers actually received a copy of Vogue with picture of their purchased item.

That is a tad self-serving, non-verifiable, no provenance.

I will start adding a similar "up sell" in my car part listings: "part was in a car once looked at by a wealthy socialite".

Works with wealthy socialites-- cannot spell.

There is a disconnect there.

Provenance can be useful as a selling tool. I bought several dozen copies of an SF magazine with Charles de Lint's subscription label a few years back. Practically the only SF magazines I've ever managed to sell.
