Is there a known bug with shipping in List View on a Search showing a different amount than the actual listing view?
When I search for this item to see where it ranks in terms of availability, I get a List View shipping cost that is different than the actual shipping cost. It's not just my listing, it seems like it affects the Global Shipping Program numbers too.
The actual cost is $7.54 to my postal code on this item versus the $9.42 it shows?
Oddly, my default has turned to Priced Highest from Best Match in search too. I mean, that's usually how I do end up sorting it but it's always been Best Match as an ebay default, has it not?

Search UPC 801452502988. Do you see a discrepancy between the postage cost on List View versus the item page actual?

I just don't get it. What does $9.42 have to do with $7.54? It's not like it's adding taxes that don't exist or reflecting a non-existent currency conversion. It's not the Xpresspost cost, either. What gives? There must be a reason it picked this other number to display but what would that reason be?

That's strange. For me it shows "Shipping not specified" but when I click on your listing it shows "$10.30 - Expedited" for my location.

It was always like that with GSP items only in reverse. The initial List View search showed a lower shipping price and then when you click on the listing the shipping fee is higher plus there is the import charges.
This is doing the opposite. In the List View from Search it shows a higher price for shipping than in the listing. In List View I see: $13.78
When I click on the listing it shows $11.03:
and in the Shipping tab I see the choice:
And here we were all having such a good day. What they give with one hand, they take back with the other. LOL!
I haven't made a study of this but for users of Price + Shipping I wonder if the "false" costs would make a difference in placement order or will the truth prevail and the placement be according to actual costs no matter what mistake is visible in List View.

I get 11.96 / 9.57. Has this just started to show on listings?

I noticed the same thing on 2 US sellers listings a couple of months ago but when I mentioned it to them, they didn't seem to care so I didn't spend any more time on it and hadn't noticed it happening to any other sellers....until tonight.
I have 3 calculated listings on .ca and none of them are doing that. But I think that I just figured out what is happening. I charge Canada Post retail rates but it looks like you are discounting them at 20% off for both international and domestic calculated shipping.
9.44 less 20% = 7.54. The retail rate of 9.44 is showing on the search page, your discounted rate is showing on the listing page.
11.96 less 20% = 9.57
On item 232139122546 the CP retail rate for TP USA is 16.93 which is what shows on the search page. On the listing the rate is 13.55 which is 20% less
Are your preferences set up to give 20% off of retail rates? If not, then my theory is out to lunch. lol
i do think this started happening fairly recently...I have no idea why. It shouldn't be like that !

My guess.....it wasnt done on purpose...they might not be aware of it. It might have inadvertently happened when they were making other changes.

I'm sure you're right with that too but it begs the question, what ARE they tinkering with and what for?! If it's still an issue by mid-next week, I'll bring it up at Board Hour.

Here is another random UPC 746775068349. It's for a specific Disney cars character. It produces similar results. There are two in Canada. Mine and one that ships via Flat Rate being listed in USD on ebay.com. The flat rate shipping listing shows the same (presumably correct) amount for shipping on the List search view as it does on the listing page.
Mine is still higher than it is supposed to be.
The even more interesting thing is the the postage costs on items coming from outside the USA are very very high. Like this third one on the list. The List Search view says C $42.94 shipping but the actual postage cost displayed on the listing is $9.50 USD (approx. C $12.85) first. So that's looking like bad news for international sellers. It is also using that higher postage amount as reflected in the List View to sort by Price + Shipping in High or Low variables.
What on earth is ebay playing with here? It is certainly affecting the ranking in Search results. Whether that transcends to Best Match we cannot know. But it certainly affects the Price + Shipping sortation.
US $9.50 | Canada | USPS First Class Mail Intl / First Class Package Intl Service | Estimated Delivery within 7-13 business days |
US $31.75
| Canada | USPS Priority Mail InternationalTM | Estimated Delivery within 6-11 business days |

With the CDN amounts like PJ said it will be the actual calculated "would be" cost that is displayed even when different from the lower fee in the listing. (Another thing that needs to be fixed). For the American ones the system defaults to Priority sometimes and that is the higher cost but like you point out it puts the sellers items far down on the bottom even when they offer a cheaper service. Sometimes even in the listing when you click on it the Priority fee is what appears (in USD) but then only when you click on the Shipping Tab does it show they also offer First Class for a lot less. Not sure if the US sellers know about that or not but I think there will be buyers who see the high fee in Search and don't buy and even if they click on the listing won't know enough to check the Ship Tab so will just back-click and move on.
