can someone explain to me where the logic is for ebay to disable canada post labels to the US but not disabling the option for us buyer to CHOOSE that option in the first place?
thats a probleme that need fixing even outside of this particular event , if i cant select it neither should the buyer.
also im sure this will cost enough lost in revenue on ebay side that maybe they could consider forcing the buyers to pay customs as part of the order so that sellers dont have to lose money or get defect for cancelled order?

You can still print Canada Post labels, just not with eBay. They also announced it a week or so out, which gave people time to pre-emptively edit their shipping rates and policies.
Lots of sellers here wants fully integrated customs charges at checkout or some sort of GSP-type program. So you're not alone. The process of removing the de minimis starting in 2024, and eventually was announced as being removed "by" July 2027. Nobody expected it to happen this quickly. Nobody expected the postal systems to have to collect the duties on behalf of the US.
So that's partly why the response to this by Canada Post, eBay, and everybody involved seems so off the cuff and unplanned, because it was.

Unfortunately when the discounting option for ebay labels was released on ca the default was all services (CP, UPS, FEDEX) or none. Variation was choosing your own discount. Something that was a happy medium that worked for you.
How it displays on dot ca:
How it displays on dot com:
The other major difference is when you compare dot com there are multiple shipping options with UPS/Fedex available. On dot ca VERY limited assortment of discounted services. If you went to a UPS or Fedex store you get the whole shopping cart of services.
devon@ebay If options (CP shipping services) are disabled for sellers is eBay going to stop buyers from selecting those unavailable discounted services when they pay and also correct the system defect to show services that sellers don't use? Extremely important to understand UPS/Fedex may not be available in all areas like rural or small centres. They are not available for Air Stage locations in Canada as another example. For many Canadian sellers there aren't ANY back up services due to where they live.

"...not disabling the option for us buyer to CHOOSE that option in the first place?"
"...if i cant select it neither should the buyer."
Precisely right. If eBay can remove the option from Sellers, then it behooves them to remove that option for Buyers.
But eBay only cares about their index in the DOW and NASDAQ.

Strangely UPS and Fedex are still available for shipping to the USA...only problem being and it's a doozy there is no way with them, as of yet with ebay labels to prepay tariffs in advance.

Discounted Canada Post labels using your Solutions for Small Business account.
Not as efficient or as cheap as the eBay/Canada Post label, but available.

UPS now has the forms in place. How long before they will be available with eBay labels if that is the method you care to use going forward. Difference being if you use UPS directly you won't access to the current eBay discounts.

I appreciate everyone’s responses. While I could update all my listings to remove that option, it would take more time than I have. eBay doesn’t allow me to simply select all and remove one option — I’d have to adjust every listing individually. Since my items vary in size, weight, and price, the shipping options I offer differ greatly by listing. That means I’d have to redo the work not just once, but twice, when Canada Post eventually becomes available again for the U.S.
I’ve also learned that UPS is going on strike in two weeks, and the location near me will be closing permanently as of next week. That’s a separate issue, but it makes the timing of all this even more difficult.
Customs is already integrated for certain destinations, such as France, through VAT, which prints directly on the shipping label and makes the process very simple. If this U.S. tariff situation is going to remain in place, then eBay must implement the same kind of system for U.S. orders.
customs is already intregrated for order in some places such as france in the form of VAT which make the whole thing very easy as it prints the VAT directly on the label. if this US tariff situation is here to stay then Ebay MUST do the same for US

Didn't the UPS workers accept the latest offer?
You can bulk edit your listings to change many options. You shouldn't need to do one at a time.
Some 3rd party companies offer UPS labels (especially domestic labels) that are often cheaper than eBay labels and include free pickup.

Maybe slightly off but a similar issue when it comes to updating listings to include correct Coo. Problem being there is no current way to sort to confirm which ones have it missing. (Always hoped there would a better tool for updating shipping options compared to business policies.) As for Coo has it been added as an item specific for ALL items? When many listings were previously created Coo was not even a consideration. The other issue is for many items the Coo is unknown. Missing packaging, not marked, company no longer in business...the list goes on. If a seller has 100's or even 1000's of listings this will be an extremely long tedious task to complete/confirm an item is has that missing.
Including this information in your listings builds trust and transparency.
Learn more about customs requirements when shipping globally, as well as how to find Country/Region of Manufacture (country of origin) information and add it to your listings.

As it was previously suggested, give sellers the option (when they can) to add as part of the listing title. Maybe 20 more characters than the current 80. If that piece of info got added to the title it would be front and centre for buyer to see without doing any sort of deepdive.

yes i can edit some of my listing at the same time (not all it crashes) but when doing so i have to do the whole thing again because once you "change" the options its not like you check on uncheck an option, you have to do the whole options selection, pricing and handling all over again and for me those info greatly varies depending on the size and value of said item.
