Account hold

EBay says that my account is on hold and that I need to talk to an assistant to answer 7 questions to get my account back but whenever I try to do that, they told me my account is suspended but can't tell me why. Is there a way to get my account back?

How did eBay get in touch with you?

That precisely seven questions makes me nervous.

Anything that requires a "lucky number" will do that, of course.

 

On Hold is nothing unusual when we are registering for Managed Payments.

Without MP eBay cannot transfer your customer's cleared payments to your bank.

 

You do have to have a Canadian bank account and it must be a chequing account.

Many sellers set up a new account for online selling, that is not connected to any household accounts.

Have you done that?

 

Then eBay asks for confirmation of identity.

They like having our SIN, but they cannot demand it.

I used my passport. DH used his driving license.

Some sellers have used the micro-deposits, but others have found those didn't work possibly because of currency fluctuations.

 

Sellers who have been temporarily suspended for Defects, may have to prove the provenance of their goods if that were part of the suspension.
