Duty for used hockey shipped from Canada To US?

Hi, I sold a used hockey stick to an american customer, he is being charged a substantial amount of money as taxes and duty, are these charge the new tarrifs?

Does "Louisville Slugger" actually make their hockey sticks in Canada?
Because I don't think any tariff applies to US-made goods, no matter where they are shipped from.

Sales taxes  would still apply however and ordinary duty might.

 

Watch out for the "manufacturer's location" when you make out shipping labels/customs forms.

If you sold a hockey stick with a value in the $3000 range, there will be state taxes applied PLUS there indeed will be additional duties,taxes,tariffs for an item with a value over the $800 USD de minimus.
