Warning Sellers about Paypal Fraudulent Illegal "crossborder fees"

As many sellers are still not aware, paypal charges extra 1% what they call "cross border fee" if the buyer or payment sender is another country. The fee is not transparent and information about it very hard to find as they only show 2.9%+cents and if you click "more" it takes you nowhere and when you check TOS agreement, it is not there either!
I was surprised how almost nobody I talked to knew about it and those are sellers who've been selling on Ebay or/and using Paypal for 5-10 years, with $1000s in foreign transactions every month.  Paypal is NOT making the real fee information easy to find on purpose which violates laws of a number of countries.

Just be aware,   I think what they are doing is fraud

I don't think that the info is hidden at all and it isn't fraud. Sign into your Paypal account and click on fees at the bottom of the page. It is also spelled out in the User Agreement.

Sales within Canada: 2.9% + $0.30 CAD per transaction Discount rate for charities registered with the Canada Revenue Agency: 1.6% + $0.30 CAD per transaction Sales to the US: 3.7% transaction fee + fixed fee based on the currency received International sales (excluding the US): 3.9% transaction fee + fixed fee based on the currency received

..why do people always scream "Fraudulent" before they even bother reading the "fine" print right in front of their nose??

Because,  SDNR = Sapiens Do Not Read!

Am well aware of PayPal fees, the structure and how PayPal works...been using PayPal for more years than I can remember. PayPal is a very convenient service for me and I have no complaints.

I don't concern myself with the PayPal fees as the convenience of their service is well worth it. 99.9% of my online sales go to either Canadian or USA buyers.

Interesting.

Our fees are actually lower than our American neighbours', who pay 4.4% for international sales.

I'm not interested enough to find out if Canada is "International" or if we have a lower rate for US sellers.
