1) I just listed my first laptop auction last night and so far have promptly heard from 3 thieves. The first was from a Russian and the others were from Nigerians. I sent the, more obvious, Nigerian offers to SafeHarbour. The first one might have taken me in had I not read a thread here yesterday regarding laptop ripoffs via PayPal chargebacks. I wrote back that we only ship to Paypal verified addresses and that was that. Once again the value of this board proves itself.
In light of the laptops available for sale via dropship I'd wager that quite a few newbie sellers are being taken in for thousands and thousands of dollars. It rather looks like this is a serious eBay problem.
2) On another matter I'm currently encountering the strangest newbie NPB yet. She claims the mirror that I sent her was damaged and she'd like to return it for a refund. Trouble is, she never paid for it and it was never sent. In fact I haven't sent a mirror of this type anywhere this month. Unfortunately the net result will be that I'll have to settle for a mere FVF when the community would be best served by being to read a warning neg. If I neg her, though, I have no doubt that I'll recieve a retaliatory neg and I just don't feel like taking it on the chin for every that wacko I encounter.
