One has to leave it to eBay management when it come to ways of making sellers part with money 🙂

In little over 2 days I got 2526 views and 1 click for 0.03.
My default CPC is $0.03 based on what you guys have been boasting about (i.e. 800 clicks for $12 is 1.5c/click, I thought I was being generous).
Now to the economics. My 7-day auctions get average 20-30 views and 40% sell ratio. Average price is $9. That means a click on my auction costs me 2c ($0.35 + $0.05 for BIN) and generates $0.18 in revenue ($9 * 0.4 / 20).
I am just trying to say that at this point auctions are cheaper and work faster than AdCommerce. Most of my auctions end-up with BIN, happens to be starting price increased by listing fee (my cost to replace bought auction) so this marketing pays for itself.
Btw. for some reason FPs don't work for me as well as auctions. If I have two listings, one auction for $9.45 and one FP for $8.95, the auction would sell way faster than FP. My wife offered a speculation that when she browses, she skips the ones that have BIN only because she feels she could get better deal. I am not sure. The fact is that auctions seem to be best marketing method for me.

???
Youy are assuming a click to your advertisement generates a bid. NOT SO. I wish!
"when she browses, she skips the ones that have BIN only because she feels she could get better deal"
True for your wife BUT not for the new average buyer on eBay. The trend for the last few years has been determined by buyers: more want the ability to buy it now instead of participating in the auction process. While millions of eBay buyers still bid at auction, that is not where the growth has been for the last two/three years.

No. I said my average sale is $9 and sell-through 40% with 20 views in average.
The bid generates actual revenue of $9, but spread across 20 views and scaling via sell-through comes the number to $0.18/view.
Whatever you say Pierre. FPs don't work for me. I am done trying to analyze why and just use what works.

In Feb I started a shipping promo of $2.50US total shipping no matter how many BIN items you purchase. There are some items not eligible. I built the fees into BIN and put everything on sale. I'm selling $300.00- $400.00 a week. For scrapbooking that's pretty good.
I still haven't been able to look into the AdCommerce again as I've been too busy packaging and listing.
But for now what I am doing seems to be working, maybe it would be better with the AdCommerce going but it will have to wait.

My ad in Video Games was not taken down, and that one is even less relevant than two above. Difference is the video games one generates clicks while the ones above do not. My total click-through ratio was 0.11%.
I emailed them and got monkey cut&paste response.
I think AdCommerce is a great idea just eBay should get relevant employess there who can at least count their fingers.

i have read this posting and you have dramatically inspired me to invest a few dollars in PPC advertising. I have a question though... When someone clicks your banner are they linked you your eBay page or a personal website of yours? Thanks Bernie!

Jeff

Right now it defaults to our eBay store but will soon (hopefully) default to our off-eBay site.

eBay does not allow you to set up a link outside eBay. Sellers using AdCommerce are given six choices:
Item listing
store home page
eBay My World
seller items (all)
seller items (Byt-it-Now)
search seller items (titles)
I frankly do not expect to ever see eBay allowing us to link outside eBay at these low prices.

Currently AdCommerce only allows clicks within eBay sites
I could swear that when we set this up, one could have an outside of ebay URL but perhaps I'm just dreaming 🙂
Thanks for pointing this out.

There was such program before AdCommerce was set up. Sellers were complaining it was unfair for eBay to collect advertising revenues to take potential buyers outside eBay.

I noticed that most of the ads are for off ebay sites. Are you promoting your ebay store or an off ebay site?
Somehow I was sure that, initially, one could have an outside URL. I even recall being given that option when setting up.
But then again, over 40 and memory like a sieve some days 🙂
