Ok this is were things stand with the CP discount pool . I need to know the following info from Canadian Powersellers

If a CP Shipping pool is put together as it stands. We would only be able to use credit card . No pool member would get terms. The on-line VCD program would be the only option , discounts would be on , shipments across Canada on packages over 1kg on air or ground . Discounts would be on USA parcels over 1kg both on ground and air . Also there would be a 2% discount on your overall bill with CP when using the CP VCD program

Would you be involved in the CP pool with me

This is correct there is no discount on small packet with Ebay's discount , or ACP (our discount in 2004)

However pooling together means one voice to Canada Post . Are you tired of being screwed around with Canada Post . Once in the ACP pool . I will personally fight for you reguarding your issue .

So people who are shipping small packet~ you want to be in this pool . It will benefit you in the long run , and you lose nothing

Truthfully everyone dreads calling Canada post and getting three different answers . I have proven myself on this message board , reguarding CP

I have no personal gain in this , my goal is ONE VOICE with Canada post with Canadian Ebay sellers

Mine hasnt called or emailed me since last June. I called him in Augist to have a coffee with me when I was inToronto for a week and he backed out.

If he is my rep, how is he representing me?

I have also posted thisi info on the regular Ebay.ca Message board . I am getting shot down , very fast by alot of people many do not know whom I am . I do not post very much outside of the Canadaian powerseller board. Any help reguarding what you have seen me imput over the last few mouths reguarding Canada Post would be great . Remember the momre that are invloved the more voice we will have . Ant imput on the other board as well will really help me

Todd, regarding tracking on small packet, the VCD software has already allowed you (for the last 2 months) to choose the option to register the small packet USA. The problem is that it works out to about the same price as Xpresspost USA. (about $17.00 for an 800 gram packet)

I am in. BUt everything i ship is 800g, so as long as it is cheaper i am in. I ship EST right now, and i just applied for the powerseller disoucnt for bronze for shipping.

800 grams would be small packet. No savings on small packet with CP volume discounts.

I am ready to join by I am still confused!
Most of my packages weigh 200 grams and I ship Small Packet to the USA. Sometimes I have packages that weigh 1.0 or 1.2 Kgs but usually just 200 grams. How would this help me?

if they are between 500g - 999g, you write 1kg and with the discount, it will cost you less than $9.90, which is the flat rate for small packets airmail to the US between 500g-900g. If they are below 499g, this discount is not good for you.

However do not discount the fact that if you are under 1kg , being part of the ACP pool means you will have one voice reguarding issues with Canada Post. Many times I have picked up the phone and personally called Powerseller members asking them how they were doing with thier CP account . This would not change .

Whatever choice you make I will always help Ebay sellers . However I truly would like too see once Strong voice when it comes too CP

You could count us in if we could still write out the manifest. You've got us started on this system. It is quick, easy and uncomplicated. Why would we change now? I am trying to figure out if they plan to let us keep using the written manifest after January without extra charges. I am looking over the Jan 12 changes and don't see anything about the proposed changes to the Small Packet Service. Did you receive anything about the price increase or insurance option? My info that came in the mail today deals with everything but Small Packet.

The discount using VCD online is nice but it doesn't offset the extra labour required to input data. Our first full-time employee starts working in January and I would rather have them scanning and typing listings instead of entering redundant addresses and shuffling paper from the printer.

Since we started using the manifest system we have not had one complaint over shipping costs. Not one! They get the package and there is nothing to argue over - there is no postage printed on the parcel. We used to have to refund partial shipping costs to avoid negative or neutral feedback after the customer received their shipment. Some people are convinced that actual shipping costs means actual postage. We've actually raised our shipping costs and stopped offering shipping discounts on multiple purchases of selected items. When I relist all our unsold FLD listings, I plan to try the 99 cent opening bid with even higher shipping costs. We could never attempt this without a streamlined mailing system and stealth postage.

Are you saying that an Expedited or Expresspost shipment of say 700grams is cheaper than $9.90?

I talked to CP in mid December after receiving their info package that stated that I could no longer use manual manifests after Jan 19th. The person on the phone indicated that it was CP's intention to get away from manual manifests across the country.

They (CP) were using a third-party firm to do data input from the manifests and the input error rate on information was too high.

Have others received this same info package. To date I have not registered for on-line data input.

Jeff I have heard this , however there are two many companies that do not have internet access for CP to do away with the manifest . In fact some of the rural CP outlets still write the manifest maually

If everything works out , I have been given a third party program When combined with the Canada Post desk top program WILL SAVE YTOU EVEN MORE TIME

With just a copy and 2 clicks the thtird part program will fill in all the info into the CP desktop shipping program. All you have to do is pick the State and the weight

This would mean when you get paid with paypal with 1 copy and 2 clicks the info would be imputed into all fields in the Canada Post Desk top program

Another Powerseller is using this 3rd party program...kind of beta testing it

But it looks very promising

95% of my shipments are less than 1kg and EVERYBODY ALREADY GET THE 2% DISCOUNT when you use cp website to prepare your shipments

We do make so many shipments togethen that cp could make a really better offer than that!

That's what I am looking for. Keep making it easier. Do you know the name of this software that is being tested? I know there are "Copy and paste a line at a time" programs. I used to have one as part of a PIM but it wasn't stand alone. Or is this going to be a specially written program for CP shipping tools?
