Can I use the "Buy Now" option once an auction has started?

If an auction has already started, can i still use the "Buy Now " option?

Only if the Buy It Now button still shows.

Some categories don't allow this.

Also, if you don't pay immediately (credit card through Paypal or from a PP balance) the item remains for sale until somebody pays.
