Exactly why should I buy from buyers using Global when I end up paying taxes & fees I shouldn't

Buying from sellers using Global is just another way for Ebay to make more money. They charge taxes and fees on items I would not have to pay in all cases. I refuse to buy from anyone using that service.

You are not alone.

But don't make that a flat out decision. My one and only GSP purchase was cheaper with all the fees than any other identical item being offered anywhere in the world.

And it was under the $50 value that eBay suggests as the minimum value for items being shipped with GSP.

But most of the time, look for the Customs and import fees included warning -- those are the GSP items.

When looking at GSP I always take the total price point as the consideration of purchase.   There also seems to be a problem from time to time when the listing preview does not match the listing postage with the GSP from some sellers so always open the listing.  I have had the USPS calculated price in the preview and the much much much higher GSP price in the listing.   When I do notice that the total price is way out of line I do send a note to the seller telling them that their $20.00 widget has $27.00 in shipping through the GSP so they may want to drop it and go back to USPS.
