Why is that I usually (9 times out of 10) receive my item without EVER receiving tracking info from Erlanger? And when they DO finally send me tracking info, it's useless. I live in Canada and have enjoyed ebay for 15 years. Most of my items, in the hundreds, have been from US sellers. This GSP has taken all the fun out of it.

If you feel like the Global Shipping Program has taken the wind from your sails buying here, it is easily enough avoided if you do a search and then List View the results so that the tell-tale Customs Services and International Tracking Provided shows in grey along the side.
Or.... shop Canadian? There's the check box alongside the left that lets you select Canada Only for search results.
I can see from your feedback count that you are not new to ebay so both these things you likely know already.
There is a dedicated thread (or two) to GSP issues. You may want to post your thoughts there as well. http://community.ebay.ca/t5/Buyer-Central/bd-p/23003

The link you provided leads to the board where 'lantz' posted their question. Did you mean Did you mean to include a link to the Questions and Answers about the Global Shipping Program? Thanks.

Why do you need tracking?
If your item arrives when you are not home, the carrier will leave a Notice telling you where and when you can pick it up.
Tracking is for the benefit of the seller, who uses it to prove that a scamming buyer is lying when she claims an item is not delivered. It does not move the item any faster, nor does it protect the item from damage in transit. If by some chance the tracking service includes insurance, it pays out to the sender /seller not to the buyer/receiver.
If your item does not arrive promptly (which I consider to be within 20 days from North America) you can open an Item Not Recieved dispute for up to 30 days after the estimated delivery date.
Tracking is an emotional need for buyers.

This is where I meant to direct the OP. The top two threads, as highlighted in red.

While I really don't like to disagree with you, femmefan due to your wealth of experience on ebay which outweighs mine, this is one place where I am compelled to butt-in. Sometimes, the need for tracking is practical as opposed to emotional.
Some buyers shop online because they cannot physically leave the house (that day, that week or that month) to get things so to miss a delivery is akin to disaster. Therefore, it is important to know when the item is on the truck for delivery. I am always at home anyway but if I am expecting a delivery on a given day, I make absolutely sure that doorbell is answered at all costs because if I ordered a 65-lb box of rocks online, you can bet your bonnet I'm not going to the post office to pick it up myself. Never mind that Fed Ex and UPS are located clear across town if I've somehow missed a shipment from them.

Oh, I was confused for a moment there. I thought you were telling 'lantz' to post their questions/comments at the Buyer Central page, not the GSP pages.

No, there is no place to post comments in the page to which I originally linked. It is a collection of the discussion threads in Buyer Central with the first two being the top two highlighted in red due to being 'hot' topics: the Global Shipping Program. By showing the whole collection, I thought I would leave it to the OP as to whether he or she wanted to ask a Question or leave a Comment about GSP. Plus, the OP would also be able to see where his/her own thread fit into it. I think it was fifth or sixth on the list of threads in Buyer Central at that point.

Yeah the eBay GSP sucks .
Not only does eBay GSP charge up to 3 times the actual cost of shipping, but the monkeys who repackage the items for International shipping are.
One time I purchased a single trading card and the seller said they packaged it in a small bubble envelope. Well when I received it, it was in a 3 foot by 4 foot by 1 foot box packed balls deep with packing peanuts. And there were like 12 Pitney Bowes stickers all over it. No wonder shipping was $40 for a single trading card from the US to Canada through eBay GSP.
This is why I rarely purchase from sellers who use eBay GSP. Or if they have something I really want, then I contact them and ask if they can ditch the eBay GSP and get real, and most of them do if they want to sell their item.
The only one single benefit to eBay GSP is that they cover up the item description and item value with their Pitney Bowes stickers. I prefer this to having everyone who handles my package being able to read exactly what is inside. But, this is not worth paying 3 times the shipping cost!!!
And as already mentioned, the tracking numbers are for sellers to protect themselves because eBay sides with thieves and criminals if they want to steal your items!!!
