How long does item not as described last if the buyer doesnt repond?

I sold an item and the buyer filed for item not as described. What happened was that i shipped the item from Usa instead of Canada. I have never really shipped anything from USA before, but something came up and i had to visit a family member. So i thought instead of doing it here, i might as take it with me and ship it there. Since i charged the buyer 20 dollars for shipping, i thought i should refund the money, as it was only 5 dollars. So i offered to refund. But the buyer wants the whole 15 dollars. I tried to explain her that i had to pay customs on it as well. And i m willing to give her the 10 dollars. So now i got an email saying i m going to leave negative feedback, if u dont refund me. And went ahead filed the Case. I dont want bad feedback, buyer wont respond to my emails, If i can get some sort of help. Shipping in Canada is far more expensive then USA. And i wanted to get the Exp. service as its the only one comes with tracking id. And i was not overcharging for anything. This is how much it actually cost to ship the item to USA with tracking id for the large box. Not once inthe email did he or she mentioned that they were not happy with the item.

Surely it would be cheaper to ship USA to USA than Canada to USA? Or was your buyer in Canada?

Why did you pay customs on the item? It was your property until it was paid for, wasn't it? Or were you obviously bringing a bunch of parcels into the States? The US customs people would get officious about that.

Frankly, it sounds like you communicated too much. In hindsight a note that shipping was less than you expected and here is a partial refund, with no more comment than that, might have been better received. (and there is a lot to be said for Paypal's "stealth" shipping labels.)

Well that's a good thing. If he actually follows through, that threat could be enough to get his feedback removed.
