So this is the story

I had a bidder from hell ...We have all had them . I gritted my teeth through the whole thing .

Once everything arrived ...... I blocked her from bidding again

Well tonight she must had tried to rebid on somthing . She wrote me this

Quote" To whom it may concern, I have bought many, many items from your company and because I had one little problem which I thought was resolved in a nice manner ended up very rude! Now all of a sudden I can't bid on any of your items because you refuse it? That's pretty rude and that's not how you keep a customer! To bad you lost a good customer that was willing to still spend with your company and help support your carvers. You can tell them it's because of you that they lost the business"

I guess she means rude int he fact she tried to bid and I did not inform her she was blocked .

I then check my feedback .........BANG ...SHE NEGED ME FOR AN AUCTION from 2 months ago . Infact she could and might neg me more . I am crossing my fingers !!!

I wrote a really nice letter stating lets work this out

My last neg was from a sale almost 5-months ago. It is being removed as the Buyer took it to Square Trade following my "Special Request".

It does scare one to think of all your sales and those that you never received any FB from that they could all of a sudden gang up and hit you with 30 or 40 negs on one day.

I probably have about 60% of my customers leaving FB meaning I have a 40% Fear Factor.

Good Luck.

I think it is better to block them as soon as there is any difficulty. At the best of time it is hard to tell what happens after the sale...
Couple rules that seem to help...
1. Keep any comments short.
2. Watch out for people who ask questions about information already in the auction text....they seem to cause problems afterwards.
3. Be polite but don't change policies after they have been set.
4. If something doesn't take much to make some body happy and it doesn't take much time...do it..
5. Be fair ...

And I guess the golden rule is ...do onto others as you would like them do to you. And if that doesn't work take a deep breath and block them....

Darn I fell off the soap box again...

Todd, that's my number one alert. Too many questions before and after the auction have meant trouble in 9/10 of my sales where buyers have been relentless in asking questions, sending 5-10 emails.

I had one potential buyer 2 days ago asking highly technical questions about a trumpet I was selling. The types of questions most professional trumpet players wouldnt know the answers to (I and my 2 kids are all trumpet players so I should know).

I answered her stating by stating that her questions had little or nothing to do with the appearance and the performance of the instrument and if she was interested in the trumpet, email me and tell me whether she wanted it for a student or a professional musician.

And as suspected, no further emails. I would have determined if I would block her after her reply email however didnt have to.
