I've never had a problem sending to an unconfirmed address as a seller. I recently purchased a cell phone from a guy on here, piad him through paypal as soon as the auction closed.
He sent me a couple emails asking about my address, then states he will not send the item unless my address is confirmed in paypal. He keeps stating I'm scamming him (how I don't know, he already has my money), so I've now had to open a dispute. He won't answer any emails, or respond to the dispute.
I guess my question remains the same, if they don't have a confirmed addy in paypal, do you still send the item?
Thanks for any advice or help you can extend to a new power seller!
Simon

I've only been scammed once in 3 years. Much less of a shrinkage rate then my sister has with her Home Hardware store. Thinking of all the money I wouldn't have made had I demanded confirmed addresses makes me shudder.

I've never bothered about confirmed address in paypal. I always ask if the address in paypal is correct to ship to just to make sure. and sellers have done the same for me.
I just wanted to make sure. His feedback seemed ok, but I'm getting the feeling I won't see the item or the money back. His seller name is "Passitover" so ppl might wanna avoid him.

Keeping your money and refusing to ship is a whole other issue. Hope you get your money back!
By the way, is there any reason why you haven't confirmed your Paypal address? Easy enough to do.

I think it depends on what you sell - some categories are more prone to attract the scammers. I sell a collectible and collectors aren't going to risk their reputation - they never know when I might have something they desperately want!! :^O

Our past experience has been that those with unconfirmed address are very risky for US to sell too, the most popular excuse used by those with unconfirmed address is that they moved and did not receive the item -- 5 plus past buyers have used this excuse when opening a dispute with PAYPAL.
We have managed to get 3 disputes won sofar but the other two are still pending - alot of work for peanuts money but oh well to me its the principal that matters - I have being scammed.
Our experience with UNCONFIRMED address is 50/50. Thankfully we do not get alot of them, if we ever did, we would most definately not accept PAYPAL as a form of payment from them -- BIDPAY ALL THE WAY!

The link below will clearly explain to you all the REQUIREMENTS that have to met inorder to qualify for SPP:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/cps/securitycenter/sell/SellerPPOverview-outside
Alot of people THINK they know the rules but most of the times they are DEAD wrong - so take a moment and educate yourself - it well worth the knowledge.
If you leave out one minor condition this is enough for PAYPAL to steal your money away and trust me, they will do it.
Cheers,

PayPal are not the ones doing the "stealing".
