Is there a way to combine shipping with the Global Shipping Program?

I have bought two items from the same seller but he is telling me there isn't a way to combine shipping using the global shipping program. Is this true?

Unfortunately, there is no way to combine shipping when a seller uses Global shipping.  You can ask the seller to invoice you after you win the auctions.  This is what I had done a few months ago and I was lucky that the seller was more than willing to do so.  Some sellers will not.

Makes me wonder why anybody at all buys from GSP sellers.
