Items listed on .ca not showing on .com search

any one else check this out lately. I have items listed on .ca with shipping to Canada and the US and they show up on .ca in search but do not show up on .com search.

How are we supposed to sell anything or should we just quit listing on .ca totally.

another problem on .com. The default setting for search on .com is listed on .com so any one searching that does not change that will never find anything on .ca. Maybe people in the US are not aware of this or in Canada for that matter.

Listing on .ca appears to be totally useless right now.

The problem is simple.

Your listings do not show a shipping charge and shipping method to the USA.

Unless a listing shows a shipping method and charge to the USA, it will not show in search on eBay.com (USA).

When I check one of your old listings, shipping charges are clearly shown for outside Canada, including the USA.

Hi Pierre

Thank you for noticing that. Shipping is correct on Auctiva and someone else on the boards said to exclude North America as an exclusion. Guess some advice on boards is no better than ebay. Will see if I can fix.

I think that is now fixed have to check if they show on .com search later as I don't know how long it takes to update.

as far as the other issue goes, I don't know how to get buyers to change the setting from .com to worldwide or if they even care

The only time that it works that way is when there is a glitch and it doesn't seem to be working that way now.

I can't find your items when searching on .com either even though the U.S. shipping is set up now. But changing the setting to worldwide doesn't make a difference to me..do you see your listings when you change to worldwide on .com?

I'm not sure what is wrong so perhaps try this...go to bulk edit, click on all of your listings, then click on edit selected listings. I don't think that you actually have to edit anything, but just putting your listings up for bulk edit and then "saving" them might reindex your listings.

Hi PJ

no, they are still not showing up this morning. Another way Ebay shafts Canadians. Could be the new search rolled out and they forgot to include Canada. Who know. time for another 2 hour call to Ebay

Pj

submitted bulk edit with no changes and once finished, they now show up on .com. Thanks again.

Will have to keep an eye on the .com only worldwide search to see which it picks on auto.

now even with the search showing item location .com, the items show up. What a disaster Ebay has created with search. no reason for anything any more.

The only way our items get excluded on .com is if the us buyer switched to US located only (unlikely), .ca listing without the catalog in a catalog required category, the common seller error with shipping fields/exclusion list, or the very few brief times ebay did have an error accidentally excluding .ca items.  .ca listings are considered "on .com"

As mentioned, that is the way it is supposed to work and the way that it works 99.9% of the time. There are a couple of exceptions as toby mentioned but if someone told you that buyers had to click on worldwide to see .ca listings, they were incorrect.
